Meh, both are fine. What's iconic to me are the superman logo, the colors, and the cape. All of these elements are present. I don't worry about costume design too much. As long as the story is good, that's all that matters. The only change that I'd make is to remove all of the seams, because it makes the costume harder to draw. I don't mind the lack of trunks or the high collar at all.

I wasn't too attached to the trunks but I think the current Superman design is too busy. That's basically my problem with all of the Superman family's costumes (except for Power Girl's now).

They need to take the suit Superman's wearing on Krypton and give it the traditional color scheme and make that the standard suit.
People who chime in on vs. threads with "I don't like Superman at all, but he'd win.", STOP HELPING! Superman doesn't need your damning him with faint praise, thank you.
