I was about to say the same thing - looks like Cyclops absorbs the Phoenix into his brain (probably in a self sacrifice "I have to do this to save the Earth"), they then put a vent on his head allowing him to "vent" the energies out.

Letting us see that preview probably wasn't a good idea.

Oh my god. That Red She-Hulk/Machine Man cover.
I know Kevin Nichols through a guy that knows a gal. Small world!

    Looks good.

And yeah, that's does look like Avalanche. The Red Skull brainwashing Avalanche is definitely a plausible situation.

And that's exactly the problem with Cap being a part of the team. It's too easy for him to overshadow Havok. He really should leave at the end of the arc so Havok can run the show without his interference. The worst part about it is just how tiny and off to the corner Havok is.

Also, colors definitely help to complete Cassady's art. It looks better here.

And yes, I think that kneepads look silly. Really not a fan of this look under Cassady. JRJr's looks better.
Why aren't you reading Winter Soldier? You should be!

Yeah, I think this explains the Avalanche thing. I guess the Red Skull is experimenting on mutants and creating mindless attackers of them. Also they seem to be coded with the Phoenix ending as a message of what to fight for.

So this is stirring the mutant.human hate pot? Not the existing issues? This is a stretch, but it is Remender so it will be awesome. Interesting twist I guess, inciting hate and reintroducing the Red Skull. I'll pick it up.

Cap's helmet/cowl looks really dumb as drawn, strange since it worked so well in the Cap movie. Why are these new costumes so needlessly complicated, especially for so many of these artists who are notoriously slow already.

Not really they have done this before. I distinctly remember a plot around the time of Messiah War. Where mutants were getting dosed with Kick and turned into living bombs.
