Today is a glorious day in which so many right-wing nut jobs will either have to admit they lost or just start crying like babies. Plus, it's new comic day! Could it get any better?

Ah, nothing like the United States of America with half of America insulting the other side. I'm glad the lesser horrible President won, very positively surprised about the marriage and marijuana laws in some states.

You find the truth humorous? Interesting...I enjoyed the first episodetheir already back to their crazy life, but I think I am going to stock up and watch a few episodes at a time as well. Not yet. Told you Obama would win!!
And for the simple reason that the most 'famous/memorable' Presidents always make it into their second term. The UK is the same. When you look at politics in a various range of countries, patterns emerge which, though I can't prove it, simply cannot be a coincidence. Not that it matters anyway. Presidents and Prime Ministers all over the world are nothing more than spokesman for politicians that are much, much higher up. They're put in place to make the people feel like they have a leader.
Incumbents have a very strong record in the US. For instance, the percentage of incumbents who win reelection after seeking it in the U.S. House of Representatives has been over 80% for over 50 years, and is often over 90%. Coincidence? However, this rate is often artificially inflated, as reapportionment and other longer-term factors make it more or less likely for an incumbent to win re-election over time.
Here's the definition of Incumbency. 'To occupy obstructively or inconveniently; to block fill up with what hinders freedom of motion or action; to burden, load'
See how it's all starting to make sense?
Oh, and btw, the whole Republican 'bad' politicians versus the Democratic 'good' politicians is a complete and utter sham. It doesn't take a series of facts to see the sheer hypocrisy behind such a trivial argument. They both advocate the same principles! Neither strive for societal change, they're put in place only to keep things the way they are. An Established Society rather than an Emergent (and adaptable) Society. Neither party wish to advocate change. If so, I'd like to know what change they hope to bring about. Because when I look at American politics, it's even more stupid than in the UK. I'm sorry, I don't mean to offend. But why vote if you have absolutely no clue as to what your voting for. And I don't mean candidates who are supposed to Qin votes by smiling and dressing nicely, like it's a contrived popularity contest.
Democracy is an hypocrisy. Let me ask you. Did any if you vote to go to war with Vietnam, Libya, Iraq or Afghanistan? Thought not. Did you vote on whether to have the NASA space programme? No? What have you voted for? What democratic decisions have you participated in? Have you had a say in anything?
It's the same with most nations. You are told that you live in a democracy, and you accept that, simply because you can only rationalise with what's 'normal' to you. If soldiers kill a whole load of soldiers on the other side of the globe, we accept that, not because it's right or wrong, but because it is normal. We simply accept what is normality, regardless of how fucked up it may be.

I personally am glad the election is over. I am happy that I will now see a steady decline in all the people here and in other places that talk about politics as if they are the only ones with a clue, posting rants as if every other person is completely uneducated. I just am so sick of the attitudes people get during election years. Degrading their friends and family simply because they have a different political view, it is completely annoying, trivial and childish.
@Robbie_Jee: That is not the definition of incumbancy onet, two, three, four separate sites and none of them use that as the definition.
