"You will not see that in this launch. The writers are there to stay for the long term. Is it possible that somewhere along the road [one] might drop by the wayside? It's always possible. But if you take a look at the lineup of people we're putting out there, you don't hire Matt Fraction to write a book or Jonathan Hickman or Brian Bendis to do a franchise book and then fold up shop eleven or twelve issues into the run." Alex Alonso

Like putting Fraction on Defenders and cancelling it at issue 12...

No. It isn't. That is rather the point.

It's a jab at all the people who keep thinking Marvel Now is a Reboot/alternative U.

I still would not have mind if Red She-Hulk started at number 1.

I think they have been very vocal about the fact that it isn't a reboot but rather a relaunch. Continuity is not being wiped away like was done in the Nu52 (and most of DC's crisis'). Rather, they are saying "Okay, here is the new status quo. This is where our characters have landed BECAUSE of everything that has come before. Now is a good time to check it out".

Sounds like a soft reboot or superficial reboot.

How? Reboot=Start over. If they aren't starting over, it's not a reboot. Maybe a soft relaunch, but I think that people are jumping the gun with 're' words. It's a push, a marketing initiative, and they are making plenty sure to state, every opportunity that they get, that this isn't a reboot. I think you could read 8 different interviews with them, and in every one they are sure to express that this is not a reboot.

One more time, for clarity. This is not a reboot.

This. Journey Into Mystery and Avengers Assemble are at least keeping the same names, so they could continue the numbering, and I have yet to be satisfied but their "reasons" for not releasing Red She-Hulk at #1. The only explanation I can think of is that it's keeping the same creative team.

I'm surprised that they're going to go into March. I'm kind of excited that Wolverine and the X-Men will involved in Marvel NOW!

Not a reboot...so they are quite proud of their remarkably stupid stories for the X-Men and Nick Fury resets.

Seriously, they should save the DC jabs until they've actually settled into NOW and instead let us know more about the telepathic monkey that takes charge at their summits.

I suspect it is because they want to try and keep some of the readers of that book currently, and estimate that collectors and Hulk fans likely number higher than people who may pick up a new #1 featuring Red She Hulk.

Honestly their explanation for not relaunching, Red She-Hulk and Journey into Mystery with new #1s is crap. Both are getting brand new main characters along with directions and one is getting a brand new creative team to go with it. Red She-Hulk, I was willing to "believe" that their same creator 'No #1' rule had legitimacy but not giving Mrs. Immonen's Journey into Mystery the same shot they are giving the relaunched X-Men: Legacy is BS IMO.

Not a reboot, just a relaunch. Marvel has had at least one for the past few years on one line of their books, same principle, just different books.
