While this is awesome news, I can't help but worry a little.
I guess they're canceling The Dark Knight, then? I really liked it now, when Hurwits took over.
Also, will Aquaman suffer too? I was hoping the rumors about the creative changes on that book would prove false.
Also, FIRST!
Also, here's an interview with Finch and Johns

Well, that explains why Geoff is leaving Aquaman. Though I am told Ivan didn't want to leave Aquaman; he got pulled onto Justice League because DC's overtures to other big names failed. And that really grates on my nerves.
Still, I love Geoff's writing. I love Finch's art. So, yeah, I'll definitely buy this book.
Thus, I continue to hold out hope that the new Aquaman creative team will end up being Jeff Lemire and Pete Woods. (GodPleaseGodPleaseGodPleaseGodPleaseGodPleaseGod. ..)

Johns is spreading himself a bit thin, no?
Not really sure what to make of this. I feel like I should give this book a chance, given its creative team - but I don't really care about any of the characters (yet, in the case of the new GL). Perhaps time and an unfolding story will change that.
Interesting though that they're already planning for Wave 4. Wonder which books will get the chop next time?
EDIT:
What? Nooooooo!!! He turned Aquaman into a book that could damn near top the charts month on month and he's leaving it? Why can't he drop JL? It's hardly an exercise in character driven storyline - anyone could write it.

Yup, I'd say this all but confirms that the Aquaman rumour is true. Also, Lemire/Woods on Aquaman? You sir, have exceptional taste in super-hero comics.
As for this book, I'm kind of surprised at just how much I love this line-up. Really cool having a couple of JSA stalwarts on there and somehow, I'm really taken with the idea of Catwoman being on the team. Cool to see Martian Manhunter back in the mix as well, as he really didn't do anything for me when he was on Stormwatch (though granted, I only read Cornell's arc/run).
Interesting to see DC almost pulling a Marvel move here by giving Johns two Justice League books. Can't say I blame them given that from a sales standpoint, it's been working for Bendis for years.
Very interesting. I mean it was said a while back the Trevor was assembling a team and people began speculating on who would join it. Not surprising about Green Arrow and Martian Manhunter since we had seen the former being recruited whilst the latter had been advertised as leaving Stormwatch. Plus, Justice League showed that the Manhunter had joined the Justice League in the past though I am curious on his motivations for the new team. Kind of surprised by Catwoman though and Hawkman... the latter makes me wonder if the Savage Hawkman is getting cancelled after Leifeld is leaving or whether he was always intended as a member. Kind of curious on motivations for this team but it seems that its mostly government agencies wanting their own controllable superhero team especially when Justice League has shown that government officials aren't happy that the League doesn't answer to them. Though I do wonder why they called it the Justice League of America in the end.
Anyway, going to keep an eye on this since I do like some of the characters on the team plus the people involved with this book.
I am Apocalypse! Look upon the future and tremble!
I am as far beyond Mutants as they are beyond you. I am eternal.
Evil? I am not malevolent, I simply am!
Does this mean Manhunter is leaving Stormwatch already?
What is this, Horseville? Because I'm surrounded by naysayers.
Aw, thanks. Coming from you, that's high praise.
Woods is only announced as a fill-in for one issue of Aquaman. But Legion Lost is a dead man walking and Aquaman is still featured as one of DC's 6 most popular characters on their home page. Plus, Pete said recently on FB that he's busier now than he's been in months. He didn't say why, but I have crossed my fingers it's because he's being moved to Aquaman as the new ongoing artist.
As for Lemire, his next new ongoing series at DC is probably one of the most hotly debated topics anywhere online. There's a lot of CBR posters pulling for Lemire on a new Shazam book, but I hope and pray it is Aquaman. If DC moved Geoff & Ivan off one of their Top 10 bestsellers, you can't get a much better team than Lemire & Woods on Aquaman.
RE: DC VS Marvel
Yeah, it's hard for me to find fault with this move. They're reclaiming the classic name and using an A-list creative team that guarantees Top 10 sales. Plus, it's a great line-up that gives hardcore old-school fans one of their most longed-for requests: the return of Martian Manhunter to the JLA. He's never been one of my favorites, but there's no question it's a smart move that fans will love.
100% win here.
Now, my #1 concern is the eventual confirmation of Lemire & Woods on Aquaman. Give me that, DC, and all will be forgiven.![]()

No, anyone couldn't write Justice League. Not with WB courting the likes of Christopher Nolan, Ben Affleck and now The Wachowskis to direct the Justice League movie. JL is a huge priority at WB right now and Johns & Reis are going to be turning up the heat on that series big time. WB head Jeff Robinov is the man who spearheaded and pushed for the huge reorganization of DC Comics into DC Entertainment. The greater spotlight on DC properties as an underutilized cash cow for WB is his pet project and he's put a lot of time and money into proving his detractors wrong.
It totally sucks for Aquaman fans given that Ivan had no choice but to move over to JL. I'm not happy about it. But Legion Lost is on deathwatch, Woods is one of DC's go-to guys who's on very good terms with them and he's already pinch-hitting on Aquaman. Bring him onboard full-time, add Lemire to the team and I can live with the loss of Johns & Reis.
I'm much more worried about Hawkman because Poulton, Bennett & Thibert have majorly turned that book around. It would totally suck to see all their good work go to waste after they've managed to make that series readable and enjoyable. If DC is going to cancel anything, cancel Legion Lost and return those characters to LSH proper--then move Woods onto a much higher profile series like he deserves and has earned.

I might give this a shot. I've always been a fan of team books with characters who don't have their own titles and can actually be progressed in the team book.
