Boy, if she wants to choose between NY and Sydney, stay in Sydney! It's one of the most beautiful cities in the world, after Vancouver. And it doesn't have to contend with Vancouver's rains! Also, she lives in the harbour area - can't get much better than that! But I do recall,when I was visiting, reading about the real estate market and it is out of control. One of the things that happens in Australia, apparently, is that people can bid on houses. This has the effect of driving the prices up.
