Most memorable anime / manga moments?

Konoha finally accepting Naruto after the Pain fight. The entire invasion/destruction arc is probably my favorite of any manga/anime. Would have made a fitting ending for the series, but there were tons of other things that were already put into motion at the time.

From Dragon Quest: Dai No Daibouken (Spoilers, obviously):


The final fight against Vearn. Especially Vearn's speech about surpassing the gods when everything points toward him having won. I've seen a lot of manga and anime that initially present a villain as having won the final fight, but I don't think I've ever seen it be so convincing.
Heroic Willpower, Friendship Power-Ups, the other usual shounen tropes and even a Deus Ex Machina...all those things got pulled out in that fight, yet Vearn still looked like he won. The first time I read through it, I was actually seriously thinking that maybe the manga would end with a villain victory at that point.

Basically, if in all the fiction I've read or played or watched I had to choose a fight that defined "final boss", that'd be the one.

From One Piece, there was also the awesome scene of Luffy putting up the sakura-flag on Drum Island.

This is definitely one of the most memorable moments in anime for me.

Probably one of the most awkward, humourous, yet realistic confessions I've seen in an anime. On a related note, I second Maes' funeral. You can't forget a scene that leaves you in tears nearly every time you watch it. Little Elicia's cries about how her dad would be late for work if they buried him broke my heart (especially in the first anime).
