How they going to relaunch new mutants?

Judging by recent announcements (most of the cast being regulars on other books), I think it's very unlikely that the title will be relaunched, much less with the original team.
I could see Marvel using the name again with a different cast, focusing on actual "new" mutants, but that's been done already and wasn't so succesful.

Certainly not for the foreseeable future. But in 1991 I don't think anyone thought there would be a relaunch in 2009 either.

I agree that the title suffered from the cast. Blink and X-Man just did not fit and it was awkward. And I've never been a huge fan of Warlock, he was quirky in the 80s but now he's just weird.

The title also suffered from bad art, especially at the end.

I love the characters, but I hope they can flourish elsewhere (Sunspot, Cannonball, Karma and Mirage all being regulars in various books) and when the time is right can reconnect in NM. Would like to know where Magma and Cypher are post-AVX though...

Doug's at JGS now in some capacity evidently. Which sort of makes sense for him tbh, really he should probably be a student there since he still technically around 16 and still needs more training.

Word's still out on Amara, Warlock, Nate Grey's torso and (ugh) Blink.

Whatever they do, the next volume needs to open with Blink's head on a spike. It just won't work otherwise.
