Default The CW Debuts Shirtless, Scarred "Arrow" Poster

The CW has released a new poster for "Arrow," featuring a shirtless, scarred Oliver Queen and the phrase "Destiny Leaves Its Mark." The series, based on DC Comics' Green Arrow, debuts in October.

Typical CW...we want him practically covered in scars.. bullet wounds, knife scars, even an animal bite... but oh god don't touch his face!

The show may or may not be good, (I've heard decent things about the pilot), but the CW always deserves mockery.

    BADASS poster

Typical comic fans, why do you gotta be cynical and whine about everything. What is wrong with the poster, big deal so it looks dolled up , its fantasy, being comic fans oh you know how realistic comic characters are right. Lets just be happy we got a damn small screen show to enjoy now, Dc wont give us movies.

Comes with the territory that is CW - and it'll probably be full of soap opera moments. It's what CW sell. I won't care if they nail Ollie's character and, thus far, they have.

Speaking from a character standpoint: it's a good visual reference that he's a) only human since there are no superheroes on the show, b) is a survivor and c) probably has a very high threshold for pain now.

I'm excited to see the pilot and make my judgement from there.

    CW loves their male bimbos.

No. CW loves the little girls that love to watch shows with Male Bimbos. Thats how Supernatural stays on the air.

and meh.... When we get a topless girl superhero poster on the CW let me know then.

Duh! CW's core audience is teenage girls and housewives. Of course you're going to get lots of shirtless scenes and scars strategically placed to look manly without spoiling his pretty-boy looks.

I know that, hence my comments about soap opera business.

As a female fan of Oliver Queen, I am seeing beyond the beefcake and into the character. So I ignore the obvious and move into what is really important: how well this show interprets Ollie past the constraints of the CW gloss. If their target audience makes this a hit because of the beefcake, that is fine. But all I care about is enjoying a fun and somewhat apt take on my favorite DC character.

To be fair, if you are going to stab someone or shoot them you don't usually aim for the face.
And im not sure what animals go for, i'd imagine the neck or arm.

I don't really think housewives are a big part of the core CW audience.
