So...far...away... :( Excited for all the movies inbetween, though. Bummed they didn't announce a Shield movie starring Black Widow, Hawkeye and Nick Fury.

The most interesting part was the joss whedon helmed live-action tv show. im pumped for that already. what do you guys think it will be? i've been waiting for (fantasizing about lol) a big budget live action tv show based on a big time comic IP for a long while now. if they just continued avengers on tv it would be the highest rated (and most expensive)m show ever lol, but obviously thats not gonna happen.

maybe a west coast/young/new whatever Avengers geared towards treens. romance drama all that smallvilel type of stuff and then integrate them to Avengers 3 for the big bucks from the teen/twilight type of crowds.

personally id enjoy something for more mature audiences but with that whedon humor in there

While this is technically news, didn't fans already pretty much assume May 2015 would be the release date? I am hyped for it and for the inbetween movies.

A Whedon superhero TV show would be awesome...I am just not real hyped for another Hulk TV show. I would love a Mark Ruffulo/Hulk movie, though. One were he mostly has control of the Hulk and is more of a proactive superhero.

I know they are giving themselves lots of lead time, but I cringe when studios set release dates and announce them before the script is even in.

This is simply a guess on my part, but I think they are further along than they are letting on. I think Whedon already had an idea of where he wanted the sequel to go and since he is writing it, that could help the process along.

With someone else I may cringe as well, but this is the studio that has not failed fully as of yet, and it is also Joss Whedon. Confidence is high on this one. Very high.

Announcing the date this far in advance is like planting a flag telling the other major studios that week is theirs. It's almost a kind of courtesy because it lets all the studios work their schedules for maximum potential profit.

It's also courteous to my butt, since I know what seat it will be in that day.

I'd bet on it being a show based around SHIELD without Samuel L. It would allow for a lower budget without the need for splashing out on alot of superhero special effects.

Indeed. It also allows Marvel to prepare for FCDB as a tie-in.

I'd like to see a show from the press/media pov, with Ben Ulrich. It'll give an insight into what the world thinks of all this superhero business in the MCU. And you could even have references to other heroes not seen in the films as of yet.

I'm also going with Shield for the tv show. Less expensive with minimum special effects needed.

I really want Marvel's television show to be something Heroes For Hire related that can move all over the MU. Sometimes they could have Dr. Strange appear and investigate supernatural, other times it could have street level stuff, I'd love for Luke Cage and Danny Rand to regularly have to work with Matt Murdock and Damage control.
My Heroes For Hire: Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Misty Knight, Colleen Wing, The Falcon, Ant-Man (Scott Lang). White Tiger IV and Powerman would be interns.
