Remender Battles Bio-Fanaticism in "Captain America"

Right now I'm at the end of the second year with the basic beats of Cap's life. In two years, we'll have a pretty different character. He'll still be Cap, but when you put someone through what we're going to do to him, they have to come out a bit changed."

Oh dear. That's pretty much saying "all of his loved ones are gonna die."

Not wild about the choice for artist here, but still looking forward to seeing where this is going.

As the article mentioned, Zola played a big role in Ed's run. It sounds like Remender gives himself too much credit for using the character.

My big concern, though, is the art. Romita, Janson, and White are all great, but I'm not so sure they do their best work together. The Dark Reign stuff wasn't entirely what I'd care to see on a $4 Cap monthly. And then you add in the challenge of growing into Cap's doofy new costume.

You have that character Brubaker-like military espionage is just what you do. Just in the same way Batman and Daredevil post Millier was mostly faux Miller.

I am going give the book a chance, but this is the Marvel NOW book I'm least enthusiastic about.
