Normally, when someone dies at the age of 85 after a life as productive as Mr Kubert's, there is sadness but a feeling that they had a full life of accomplishment, that they had done everything they set out to do.

Although he had become less productive in recent years, Joe Kubert remained an incredibly gifted artist and storyteller and continued to produce exceptional work.

    This was too soon.

But if Mr Kubert had lived another 20 years it would probably still have been too soon.

A truly tremendous talent. The comic book industry is a lesser place without Joe Kubert.
The monster saved them all. And in their fear, they betrayed him. As they always have. As they always will.

Are you sure that Joe Kubert Presents is a one-shot? When I discussed with Joe last year he told me it was a six issue miniseries that would finally print Redeemer as well as Sgt. Rock and Hawkman tales. Regardless, this is a tremendous loss to the comic book community and my best wishes are with his family.

I got a few issues signed by him at Baltimore Comic Con in 2009. He was really nice and I jokingly asked "Do you rub it in your better than your 2 sons ?" He chuckled and told me no . I told him his sons and him are very talented. RIP Joe Kubert.
