Remender, Romita Jr. Send "Captain America" to Dimension Z

Today's MArvel NOW! confirmation firmly places Rick Remender and John Romita Jr. on "Captain America," but also sends Steve Rogers to Dimension Z as Arnim Zola returns to confound the Avenger.

Wow! A Cap series that doesn't continually go back to WWII? I'm impressed!

I'm actually really curious about this title now.

(Just don't kill Diamondback until she meets Songbird!)

So this is a prequel, at the start at least. I wonder if characters like Howard Stark and Prof. Horton will make cameos. And we get to see a human-looking Zola.

Seems like it. No one can get it right. Not that we know which one is the "right" one anyway!

So this will be the first main villain of Captain America#

It will be tough to me to see Zola as a main villain.
He have been more characterized as being a villain working in behalf of a major villain that him by himself being a major villain.
But in Remender i trust to make this work.
And Jrjr art is another reason why i am looking forward this titles,his illustrations are a fine example of storytelling in the comic book medium.

Pre-Cap Steve was my favorite thing from the movie, so I hope that flashbacks will be good.

Romita Jr.'s art in AvX has been horrible, ESPECIALLY his Cap. So, let's give him Cap's title! Ugh.

Would rather see Stuart Immonen or Sal Larroca. I'd really love to see Alan Davis!

I'll just wait until Jr. leaves the title to check it out.

From Fear Agent to Punisher to Uncanny X-Force, in Remender I trust. I was pretty stoked to hear he was on Captain America, even though it wasn't my first pick for him.

JRjr is one of the first artists I encountered when getting into comics. I came in when Howard Mackie relaunched Amazing Spider-Man, and I started reading full-time when J. Michael Straczynski took over. So his art and storytelling had a big influence on me in my formative years. But lately I haven't found it as aesthetically pleasing. But I think Dean White's colors are what sealed the deal. This cover kicks so much ass and as long as the interiors can match it, this book will be balls out awesome.

That particular panel has no facial close-ups which some readers have issues with. But if it comes to JrJr, I think it's also in part to do with the inker. The one for AvX suited his pencils more than for, say World War Hulk.

I'm jazzed about all the Marvel NOW announcements so far but this is the title I'm most looking forward to. I think Remender and JRJR are going to make for a great team and I can't wait to see how their Cap run plays out.
