    Would never happen.

I can't believe yes even got 3 votes. In the 616 Peter should and will be the only Spider-Man.
Wasn't Marvel's plan legitimately to have Ben take over as Spider-Man forever but it was changed due to the massive backlash from the fans?

Absolutely not. Spider-Man IS Peter Parker. Why do you think Stan put so much emphasis on his personal life? Spider-Man is not a job description anyone can apply for, or a royal title passed down generation to generation. It was a freak accident that gave him his powers and a sobering lesson in great power and responsibilty that made him Spidey. Having other people take up the name and costume cheapens it. One of the reasons I don't really care about the Flash is the guy is so easily interchangable. Oh no, Barry Allen died? Well, just call Wally, or Jay or any number of speedsters out there. (Impulse, Max Mercury, etc.) Anyone can fill his role in the DCU, so who really cares?

    They'd never do it.

    No.

    Peter Parker is Spider-Man.
If Steve Rogers is still Captain America,Bruce Wayne still Batman,Tony Stark still Iron Man i dont see why Peter Parker should pass the mantle of Spider-Man.

    Definete No

In every sense of the word.
Ben Reily was the only one I'd be ok with and even then I'd prefer Peter.

Well, not only should they not do it because Peter IS Spider-Man and not even Miles can make me believe otherwise but it cheapens the "doing something new" that 1610 is doing. Heck, with all the "Marcus Fury" stuff going aroung, I wouldn't be surprised if they made Miles Spider-Man in 616.

Would I want Peter Parker to be replaced as Spider-Man? Of course not. But could Marvel conceivably do it. You bet they could! It's the kid of thing which would make Spidey fans go crazy enough to buy the comic to see what the heck is going on. Especially if it's anything close to what I, and others, have been speculating about issue #700 and Marvel NOW!

Marvel is the worst for doing stuff they haven't done yet.
I know Kevin Nichols through a guy that knows a gal. Small world!

Well they technically did it twice already. First with Ben Reilly and then with Miles Morales (albeit it's for an alternate universe). So I'd say the prescience for it has already been set. Although, I agree, it would only be short-term if Marvel did do something like that again.

NO! Peter Parker is Spider-Man, just like Clar Kent is Superman.

This, and I own full runs of every 616 Spider-Man ongoing. I have dealt with a lot of decisions by Marvel that I didn't like over the 25 years I've been reading Spidey comics. If Peter ends up not being Spidey permanently I will be done.

Well I liked Bucky as Captain America and Dick Grayson as Batman. They were still well groomed sidekicks while Spider-man is a solo act.
