Default Has Tec or TDK caught up to Batman?

My DC list is getting lower and lower (only Batman, Nightwing, Batwing, Aquaman, GL, GLC, JL) so I thought I would possibly start pulling Tec or TDK again.

I dropped them right before Owls stuff. Has it gotten any better or is it the same as before?

Tec is getting a new writer, John Layman of Chew fame.

...and The Dark Knight also just got a new one; Greg Hurwitz (who wrote the excellent Penguin: Pain and Prejudice mini series.) It's a bit early to judge his story yet as he's only two issues in on his first arc, but the actual craftsmanship of the writing is far beyond anything that came before in this book.

I would give Gregg Hurwitz's TDK a chance, but I really can't stand Finch's artwork...

Hurwitz is a great writer, always worth checking out. Chew was a great series so I hope Layman is as good as he was on Chew as he will be on Tec.

Hurwitz is a definite improvement on Dark Knight, but that book has still fallen off of the pull list (#10 was interesting, but #11 wasn't). Detective is going to be back on the pull list if Layman can turn that book around with #13. It was a big mess under Daniel (especially this last arc).

Batman Inc. isn't on your pull list?!?!?!?

I was looking forward to Hurwitz on TDK, but the story isn't doing it for me, and Finch's art just kills my enthusiasm dead. His facial expressions are so bad and there is no life or movement to anything, it's all dark and dreary and grim.

I am very much looking forward to Layman on Tec, but with Snyder's Batman (I am a huge fan of that series), Legends of the Dark Knight (weekly quality for a buck), and Batman Inc (whenever that actually comes out), I have no shortage of great Batman material to read.
