Loki actually started out a lot more sympathetic than the crazed hate filled person he became - both the Trials of Loki and blood Brothers showed this. If they ever return him to 'adulthood' I hope he'll bemore of an anti hero than a one note villain - most of the Asgardians are 'shades of grey' rather than black or white anyway.

I think he's currently a kid because Marvel seem to like kids at the moment - WATXM is actually about a bunch of children!

You'd have to go back a few years to find out why Loki is a little kid.

His body was destroyed in Siege but he kind of prepared for his own death and he was resurrected in a kid's body.

This has been one of Marvel's better stories in recent years I must say.

That's too bad. I liked Don Blake. Most people seem to want to get rid of him, though. Truth is, I tend to prefer mythological stuff when there's more of a human element present. It's kind of why I'm more drawn to the Greek myths than the Norse ones. The Greek stories have more stories about demigods and mortals interacting with gods.

Man, I bought a digital copy. I don't know how that even affects the sales numbers.

I'm not sure JIM is going to be cancelled.

Gillen has been pretty dodgy on the subject.

I like him, just as Thor's human identity. Not his own personality. But he would have all the experience of being a doctor. (If that makes any sense.)

At least with kid!Loki they have the option of making him sympathetic without making it seemed force.

And yeah, Marvel seems to really love kids! I think it's the writers rebelling about characters never growing up, so they do the next best thing.

i hope this isn't too off topic but where did they clear up the female Loki thing? I don't remember anywhere in the actual Thor run where that was resolved. Was it in one of the Seige (pre-Seige?) tie-ins? It might be a good time to go back and read that run again I think.

It was in JMS's Thor, if I recall correctly. Somewhere around #601 or #602.

I like all the newer versions of Loki: Lopter (Sif-Loki), Kid-Loki, and adult male Loki.

Lopter was the most terrifying and had the most interesting chemistry (she was amazingly fun with Doom). The sexual tension was just fun and Loki had too much fun confounding everyone. That and lying by using the truth + lucifer quotes was made of win. Best evil Loki ever.

Adult male Loki was also awesome, but a lot more sympathetic. He was actually oddly noble. Loved the bit with him and Spider-man. There was more too him than just evil.

Kid-Loki is so bright-eyed and desperate for approval that he's the most sympathetic. He really does want to do good, but he just can't do it in a straight forward way. And every one expects evil Loki to come in and laugh at them any minute.

Didn't he actually more or less just say he "found" his old body, then alerted Thor, who went to save Sif and put her in her proper body as quickly as he could?

I loved how Doom almost seemed to forget that Lady Loki was still Loki. He basically had a sexual fantasy about making her/him a sex slave...and then there were the clones...OK, I'm telling you guys, Doom really does both ways, I think...

I loved the issues he had with Spider-Man. He actually seemed like a semi-ok person, until you remember what he did with Sif...I can sympathize with Loki, but at the same time, a lot of the problems he made for himself by being a jerk.

Maybe Dooms into that sort of things. Some people are you know. It does make sense for the character.
He's often written as a bit of a chauevenist who thinks women are for bedding and men are for dominating. Put the two together and ...fireworks!

Hopefully Kid Loki won't be thrown under the bus with the new Thor book.

I actually have no sympathy for Sif. It was hair; it would grow back. She changed her whole lifestyle because some guy cut her hair off. That's shallow, and tells me she was probably a very judgmental person who looked down on others. Of course, I don't have sympathy for Loki in this regard either.

Thanks for giving me even more valid reasons for dropping Fraction's Thor run right after Fear itself.

Indications are that he may be moving off to some sort of youth team with Miss America and Wiccan, after JIM isn't so much cancelled, as allowed to wrap naturally at the end of Everything Burns.
    Mostly moved on to fanfiction.net...
