Archer & Armstrong Volume 1

Like everyone one else I'm super stoked about Archer & Armstrong coming back! I can't wait to pick up my copies of #1 tomorrow!

In honor of that I figured I would pull out my complete run of the original series (volume 1) and show the books.

Let me know what you think of the video and what your thought s are on volume one in general.

A&A and Quantum and Woody are pretty much the only two Valiant titles I never got around to reading the first time around. I have all or most of these, so I should probably get around to reading them soon. I always liked Arum when he appeared in other titles (Eternal Warrior, Magnus, Timewalker, etc).

(and sorry for not offering feedback on the video, but I'm in a public place and w/o headphones, so I can't watch at this time).

I loved the tone of the original series, even if the switch from BWS to Mike Baron was a bit jarring. The irreverence of Armstrong and the naivety of Archer made for a great combo, and the blend of clasical history and pop culture was a lot of fun. But I am not interested in a new take. We saw how it all ended in Rai#0, and I'll let a new generation have their own A&A -if they must.


*edit* CBR just announced that issue#4 would have a variant cover by jason Pearson. Now that's something I'd be interested in; I loved Pearson back in his Legion of super-heroes days and regretted not seeing more of his art over the years. Unlike many of his peers at the time, he wasn't trying to ape the Image style and had a very interesting and idiosyncratic approach.
