Here is a character design sketch that I need to polish up. I was also considering... "If addiction is a demon... Its name is FIEND!" or something like that. Any input welcomed. I don't know how to make it bigger here but it's at my blog larger.

Thanks for the response. I have a book I did in 2005 Called Descendant of Darkness with this character in it. For the character itself, I'd need to go check some hospital bills for the date. Probably late 90's or 200?. I made him after I was given morphine in the hospital for two weeks or so. I have a lot of characters and ideas for books but I'm only just now able to do this financially without the full time job. Wow speedball is much more kool than when I remember him and the story that goes with it seems good too. I can see where the spikes/Fangs could look similar to you though. I could have done better to illustrate that the mask is leather and torn away at the mouth.

"Snakes run through his veins!" is just an awesome and hilarious feature for a character. I seriously love that.

The whole idea is just crazy high-concept enough to work; I'm really digging it. I think the actual design could be a bit more unique; maybe elements that are a bit more specific in regards to their function (Such as the belt across the chest?).

I'd like to see some more sketches. Keep it up!

I think this is really cool. It reminds me of something very "retro horror." I'm really curious to see what else you come up with. If you need any inspiration check out some old Grindhouse movies. i think they would really capture the feel that would do the Fiend justice.

@Tar22 and MDG1820 Wow that is some Killer feedback!!! Thanks for that. Yes, I will do some more and post them here as I go. The belt on his chest is to be used to hold the syringes filled with his victims brains (his doesn't produce the chemicals so he borrows from bad guys and drug dealers.) You can see a advert I did about it here on the forum or on my Indiegogo campaign or blog. I don't know why I didn't put them in the pic. I either forgot or got lazy. I'll do it in the next one and see what you think.

I love Retro horror too! I will definitely use those for inspiration. Thx
