The linked article said Dini's schedule's booked, so I'm expecting some good things to be coming from him soon. While it's a bit disappointing that he's not returning for a third game, I agree with Cyke- both of Arkham's storylines were great, and they're one of few that don't make my mind automatically jump to alternate ways things could pan out, but I'm pretty confident they'll get someone who can keep the quality high. I'd really like to see more from other Batfamily characters in the next one, in terms of being able to play them through the main storyline.

Hmm, I just hope whoever writing for the next game will be able to follow up the plotlines set up in Arkham City properly.

Then again, I heard that Dini didn't actually plan both games' plots. It's basically Rocksteady giving him an outline and Dini just writing dialogues?

I'm sure that Rocksteady gave Dini the parameters he had to work within - walled-off section of the city, divided up by different villains, which villains to use, etc - but I'm betting the majority of the plot points were created by Dini (in conjunction with Rocksteady's input)

If you read Dini's statement about why he doesn't have time for another game I believe he says that he was told that for the 3rd installment they wouldn't be using any freelance creative people. That, combined with this rumor about the silly shoe-horning of the JL into the batman game franchise, makes me think that maybe WB is stepping in dictating creatively, pushing their marketing agenda with the JL after the success of Avengers. Like some exec at WB realized "hey, these Batman games are profitable! We could leave them alone to continue being profitable... or we could take over and use them to push our JL agenda!"

This scares me. It almost never goes well when corporate dictates creative.
