Default Is there a website where you can trade comic books?

Hi. I am trying to trade some of my Walking Dead Hardcovers. I am not interested in selling it because there are plenty of comics (e.g. invincible, american vampire, idw's ghostbusters, sherlock holmes, and rocketeer) I would want to read instead.

I am grateful for the trading system that is here as I was able to work a deal or two out with some of the members. However, I have traded video games and dvds on a site called goozex with wonderful results. I won't go into too much detail about how it works, but I'll just say it is based on a points system in which you earn points when you trade away your games and you use those points to receive games that are being offered from members of the goozex community. Who you trade your games to and who you receive games from may not be from the same person. The value of the game (i.e. the number of points needed to request a game) is based on its demand. More demand means more points required to request it.

Well, I only mention this site because I am wondering if you know of a way this can be done with comic books. Goozex used to only deal with video games, but they have since expanded to dvds. They, as far as I know, don't deal with books or comic books. Does anyone know of a reputable website that deals with trading comic books in the same way as goozex does with their video games and dvds?

Just so you know, I am not complaining about the trading system that is in place here. I am thankful for it. I am curious to know if there is a more efficient way to do it. And yes, I would create one myself if I had to knowledge, but I'm just identifying a possible solution to reducing our overcrowded bookshelves. Smarter, more technically savvy people can find a way to do it, I hope.

    Thanks.

Paperbackswap.com, but you're better off not trading the WD hardcovers there. They hardly ever have anything good and a "Credit" is worth about three bucks, you can buy credits for less. The system works like your Goozex but there is pretty much nothing but manga and childrens books featuring super heroes. I am willing to wait though, and have gotten good stuff. It takes a lot of waiting though, and the credits I had were from worthless old paperbacks I couldn't sell at a yard sale for a dollar each. I'd say just sell them for the best result, but if you are set on trading just use the trading thread here and wait for the right trade to come along.

If you have a local shop you go to try putting out a few feelers there; talk to the owner if he knows any of his regular customers would consider trading comics or if he'll allow leaving a notice for trading.

That thought came to me, but then immediately I thought about how rude that would sound. The LCS is trying to make a buck, and here's some kid stealing business...

    Am I over-thinking this?

You know, I don't really know. Customers are already coming in buying comics and seeing a trading board might encourage to give a series a try without buying to see if they like it. If they do it could entice them to buy more of the series from the shop instead of waiting to see if someone else will put the rest of the series on the trading block.

Is it that much different than posting a notice trying to get a D&D game going or a card game?
