Wow, after reading the Newsarama interview I am now pumped! Buuut, there's still the issue of Greg Land absolutely undermining Gillen's greatness with his incompetent artwork.

On the plus side, this new armor is gonna be great for Marvel's merchandising. All they have to do is take their existing Iron Man toys and swap the red palette for black. It worked for the Red Hulk!

I hope the new armor isn't under his skin. Which could be if you look at the promo picture.

Well the interview states he plans to explore extremis so it probably is.

You Iron Man fans are lucky. Kieron Gillen has done some amazing things for Uncanny X-men. He made some of the best Uncanny comics in a long time. While I'm sad to see him go, I think he'll do some amazing things with Iron Man. And while I know Greg Land has his detractors, his art isn't sloppy. It's as visually appealing as you want in a comic for the most part. It can be a bit generic at times, but it gets the job done. What more do you need?

Greg Land literally steals art. The fact that this book will sell 1 copy or more infuriates me. I hate the apathetic general public.

Well, to be fair. I think anyone that knows what he does won't buy it. So the only people buying it either don't know. That said, more people should know.

Wait....are you telling me my issue of Captain America will be $3.99 as well? Hysterical!
    Hey, maybe you will.

I love Gillen, but cannot stand Land.

I wonder how Marvel feels when they read threads like this with the majority of people refusing to buy a book because of the "artist."

Thye probably flick over to see how Greg Land's issues of Uncanny X-Men accounted for some of their best sales of the past few years

So does Marvel not even entertain the idea that people would buy an issue despite the artist?

I'm not too fond of done-in-ones like most people are, and I've learned that I shouldn't support Land. I'm sticking to my trade waiting as usual, but it will be a long time before I pick up this book.

Love that tumblr page. It's bad enough that Land references everything and oversexualizes his women, but if he's stealing from photos of real humans, the least he could do is draw them as if they had real hips and real shoulders.

I'm pretty psyched about this. Gillen writing my favorite character, and hopefully doing some crazy and inventive things with him. I'd love to see Tony thrown into some bizarre situations, something beyond the standard mechs and enhanced humans.

I do hope this isn't going to be a downgrade in his technology, though. Extremis has been a complete redefinition of Iron Man, and I don't really want to see that tossed aside. Tony should always be adjusting and improving, evolving the design.

Definitely on board for this one, though.
