Well he's already done Witchblade, so it's obviously not stopping him.

I should specified that he doesn't like mainstream superhero comics because of the shared universe aspect and to him they stories told with them are not self-contained.

Witchblade......... isnt really a super Hero comic anymore per say............ during Ron Marzs run (sejics run as artist) the book has pretty much become The X-Files only with the main female having a living mystical weapon to defend herself with, they abandoned the whole mike turner era "it shreds her clothing when activated" "lets get away with as much sexy semi nude heroine as we can" angle and went with a more serious grounded tone witch has done wonders for the book (let me be clear i liked the old stuff too, but now its less a guilty pleasure book and more a genuinly good story and book period)

I love em. Always wished WW had a warrior skit instead of the one piece looking outfit. Raven needs a hood.

They are all great. The only things I don't like is the sweat on Starfire, because it kinda reminds me of piss; and I don't like Wonder Woman's arm. I know she is muscular but that looks overly done.

But those two and the other ones are still very nicely done.

Hmm, well that's strange since the Darkness and Witchblade share theirs...not sure who else is in there.

I could argue that much of the Dark line and the Edge isn't exactly traditional superhero stuff either...oh no, now I've reminded myself DC is throwing Raven way to Teen Titans again rather than growing a brain and move her into the Dark line...:(

You can't fairly compare a universe made up of 2 to 3 books which for the most part don't crossover much to one made up from 52+ books which tend to crossover in some way or another, more often than not.

Sure. Starfire has this bizare glowing skin cancer (some guy said it was sweat?), I don't quite like how her eyes are drawn and the legs below the knee look really flat, as though it hasn't been finished yet. Cyborg looks like a grey skinned alien, his left arm looks utterly ridiculous and he looks like a guy wearing alien armour rather than a guy who actually is a cyborg. I also don't like the texture on some of his armour, it's hard to explain, but it just looks weird and really out of place. As for Raven, she looks more like she's come out of some medieval fantasy MMORPG, and those silver buttons everywhere look kinda silly.

The Wonder Woman is the worst one of the lot. Her legs are really chunky- if you look at just the bottom half, those are a guy's legs. Her left arm looks weird, there are some really odd looking straight edges on her left fist and right elbow, the bulging veins on her muscles look creepy and her face doesn't look remotely symmetrical. There's a notable difference between the nose and left eye then there is between the nose and the right eye, which also looks considerably wider.

I'm not an art critic by any means, but the human eye can detect things that look "off" really well, and I keep getting that feeling from each of those pictures.

I'll say personally that I don't care for the CGI photo-realistic art style that Sejic and others use. There is a lot of detail and the character designs are nice, but they all look lifeless and static. There's no sense of energy or motion. It always looks like everyone just stopped and is holding a pose instead of actually moving through the scene. The problem of trying to make the art too realistic is that you run into the uncanny valley.

True, but it's not like that Tow Cow has a very large collection of characters capable of holding an ongoing title long enough for it to warrant weaving into the worlds of the bigger names. (Currently it seems to be only Witchblade, Darkness and Magdelena (?)...which all share their world).

That's not really relevant to my point.

Beat me to it. Although Witchblade, IMO, always had a pretty solid story and characters. It was why I followed it on a regular. It always annoyed me the bad rep it got because people thought it was T&A while I felt the story and Pezzini herself were solid reads. So I was happy when they started to cover her up.
