I'm gonna read all those in that order, but what about the rest, the ones that follow? The DC website does not list the issues in chronological order, rather in alphabetical. How am I supposed to know which one I should read first? Please answer as soon as possible! Thanks in advance.

Demon Knights is set in the Middle Ages. All Star Western is set in the 1880s. All issues from these two titles come before everything else.

There is absolutely no order to all those sereis, barring a few cross overs here and there. The order is simply issue #1 of a series to the present, there you go.

Yes,but,it's kinda messes up the continuity.I see there's Green Lantern, and there's Green Lantern:New Guardians. There's Batman, there's Batman:The Dark Knight and there's Batman and Robin. When do these take place? What's the difference between all of them? It's so wierd!I mean,Green Lantern is obviously set some years before the present, when Hal Jordan, the original Green Lantern on earth takes his ring. But New Guardian takes place when Kyle Rayner, the third Green Lantern on earth gets his ring.Wasn't Kyle kind-of a replacement to the black guy(I can't reclall his name),who took over from Hal,beause he died? So,when does it take place? It's all so wierd, epescially because it doesn't specify time.I'm just lost in this universe...Could someone explain all this to me?

It's all still roughly happening around the same time. Yes, Kyle Rayner was originally a replacement for Hal after he killed off the rest of the Corps and then died himself, but he eventually came back along with the rest of the Corps and everyone was peachy again. So in the current timeline, Hal and John and Guy and Kyle are all Green Lanterns, and they're all off doing their own things at the same time.

Same with all the Batman books. Everything is simultaneous unless specifically stated otherwise. You just have to ignore the fact that he's fighting the Court of Owls and has just been stabbed in one book, and next week he's completely fine and chasing after someone different in another book. The continuity of characters that are starring in several different books at the same time is always messy at best.

Just keep in mind as a new reader that one of the easiest ways you can set yourself up for a big letdown is to assume that there is some master plan. The editors and creative staff, at DC and Marvel and anywhere else, are making it up as they go along. The best you can hope for is that a single title or family of titles will maintain continuity more or less for a few years. New writers and editors come in all the time with their own ideas about how the characters should act and grow, and they always have to update them to keep them relevant for changing audiences and changing times. You can expect to see something rebooted, relaunched, reimagined or recycled about every 5 years or so.

A heads up - the list posted here is the one I created and update (almost) weekly here http://new.dcuwiki.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4211. Titles are added and moved as they are released, or based on solicits. My methodology is all explained there, but I am aware, like Volkditty said, that there is no master plan. A chronological order in this amount of titles is absurd, but finding some order is a tick I have. Plus, if it helps the fabled "new reader," I'm all that much more encouraged.
