Default Concerning the infamous Brokeback Pose

Seen adorning many a comic cover and illustration is the infamous Brokeback Pose. Both tits, both ass cheeks and full face all in one pose. It's physically impossible, yet I see people arguing for it's reality still on the forums.

Here's a great pic with Brokeback Pose (definitely not the worst example I coulda shown, but this is an illustration that really tried to make it seem as real as possible, yet still failing.)

I agree that its a stupid pose, but the example you chose looks so similar to the picture of an actual woman that it's counter intuitive to the point.

Why don't they just put the ass on the front of the women? It could be their super power, showing off all the goods in every panel.

Honestly, as long as physics are respected, I don't see any problem with that.

As an artist who draws female wrestlers 3 updates a week, I personally AVOID it when possible. I like discussion as much as the next person, but this is one minefield that as an artist, I try to avoid.

The second boob is there in that harley pic. It's not full view, but its there look closer. But as you can see in the second pic the other boob is nowhere near to being seen.

    To Guardian Moderator:

Yeah the Harley pic is a very nice drawing, but I chose it because the artist really tried to make the brokeback pose work. But for your pleasure here's a gross exageration...

The point is not that such a pose is not achievable in real life.

The point is that superheroines ought not pose like strippers for no reason at all in just about every damn panel they're in.
'The marquis. Well, you know, to be honest, he seems a little bit dodgy to me.'
'Mm,' she agreed. 'He's a little bit dodgy in the same way that rats are a little bit covered in fur."

So are many many things we see in comic books.

Meh. That's very much less than a 90-degree turn. It's very possible and not very difficult... even for me, one of the least limber people on the planet.

Mind you, I've seen far, far worse than that Harley picture.

    My blog.

We struggled against apartheid in South Africa, supported by people the world over, because black people were being blamed and made to suffer for something we could do nothing about; our very skins. It is the same with sexual orientation. It is a given.
