Thumbs down Anyone know any good n' cynical comics podcasts?

I love the notion of comics, I'm just a real critical person.

As a result, most comics podcasts, like IGN's or iFanboy's or whatever strike me as very irritating in their, um, ****-eating attitudes. (sorry)

    The best I've found are
'Funnybook Babylon' (though they have very few new episodes, and occasionally dive into stuff waaay before my time that leaves me behind a bit, when they're talking about something you know they're incredible.
and recently some TCJ guy's 'Comic Books Are Burning in Hell,' which is great until they start referencing very obscure things (as if I'm stupid to not have read the Smithsonian collection of Sunday strips from the 20's).

I also enjoy Gillen's 'Decompressed,' less because it's critical (it's not), and more because Gillen is my favorite.

Any others I should check out?
    Batman Inc.
New/Uncanny/Young Avengers, Cap, Daredevil, FF, Hawkeye, Thor, Uncanny X-Force, Uncanny X-Men, WatXM
    Saga, Unwritten

I've listened to The Weekly Long Box a few times. They aren't ridiculously cynical, but they cover current stuff.

I'd love a list of good comic podcasts though.

    You have an amazing signature.

And yeah, I would appreciate that as well. Cynical was definitely the wrong adjective choice on my part, I think 'critical' much better defines what I'm looking for. People that can truly celebrate greatness, because they don't celebrate everything.

If no one else responds, I'll try a few at random that have fanbases/listeners-on-iTunes and report back.

I like the "House to Astonish" podcast, by Al Kennedy and Paul O'Brien. They do a round of commentary on the news, two or three current reviews, and then a celebration of an obscure Marvel character. I don't know how cynical they are, though.

Steve Wacker actually said that to a fan over on the Spider-Man boards once. It was classic.

Here is a fairly current list I found looking around the internet. Maybe read through the descriptions and find one you like.

One thing I've always struggled with comic podcasts is they either sound like two fanboys talking in circles and/or they don't have any radio ability. I know that sounds unfair, but there is a talent to it.

This is the best podcast. It's critical, sharp, and on-point.

Awesomed By Comics give proper commentary, although they update irregularly at the moment.
PW Comics World: More to Come is another strong podcast in terms of critical commentary

And if you want to hear people tear a comic apart, War Rocket Ajax do a strong line in "attacking comics which weren't written by one of our friends". Of course, that also means they also tend to love comics which were written by their friends.

    Those are good. Couple others I like are;
-WordBalloon - John Siuntres is a radio man and you can tell by the clean presentation and in-depth insight. Great interviews.
-New Iron Man (and old Journey Into Mystery) writer Kieron Gillen has a great new podcast all about process called "Decompressed"
