What an interesting idea. I'm all for it.
Still, sometimes the X-Men work best when such matters are addressed by way of metaphor.
What might be some examples of metaphorical trans-gender issues among the Mutant populace?

Did everyone forget about Kidogo?!
He was a hermaphrodite after all, he's as close as we've gotten! Celebrate, people!
Yeah, Xavin was something all together different and, though it was an interesting idea, Lucy's quick decision to be okay with it struck me as a bit forced and kind of a missed opportunity. There's a lot more to being a woman other than simple physical anatomy - and the idea that Lucy was only attracted to the sexual aspects of her lesbianism demonstrated a degree of naivete on the part of the writing.
It would be great if the X-Men could have a character like Lord Fanny among its ranks - but she was lightning in a bottle and unlikely to be recreated any time soon.
Ah yes. Good point. So glad you turned me onto that title.

Why? Do transgender women in real life constantly remind people that they're trans? Or do they just get with, you know, being a woman? Why must the audience constantly be reminded of that one fact about the character? Why not just write a transwoman the same as any other female character and only reference that fact when it's relevant? Just like any other aspect of a character's history

I agree, there really should be a transgender X character.
I'm kind of amazed that there isn't one already.
Life looks better in black and white.
Would this person count Lady alternate?
