But no one had a problem with a d-lister like Emma getting an upgrade from the X=mens main dude.

That reasoning is utter Bullsh*t. Cable has been floating Deadpool for years..An entire Avengers team help lift ARES into popularity..but all of a sudden its such a travesty.

actually in comics a minority is more likely to be in an interracial relationship then with another minority. Not that I have a problem with interracial couples. But come'on minorities do occasionally, you know, like get together and get married.

Although some of that is a double edged sword. What, you just happened to stick the one black male in the story with the one black female in the story? Because that's how it used to be. It may have gone too far in the other direction, who knows.

Emma was a d list character who was paired with Cyclops, an a list character. In this scenarion, Emma=Panther and Cyclops=Storm. Same with Ares (d list) and the Avengers (a list).

As for Cable and Deadpool, the two have had a history since Deadpool's 1st appearance in the early '90s. The entire relationship of Storm and the Panther was forced, rushed and changed from those few panels we saw in the '80s of her and Panther as kids.

But beyond that, the bigger difference between the pairings you mention is that Storm jumped editorial offices. Cyke and Emma didn't have to go too far to hook up. Storm had to basically leave her book.
