you can call me what ever you want but I know im not making myself look sensitive, insecure and not trying to create a problem that doesnt exist yet before reading an entire story. people already pulling out the race card on marvel before the story is complete. Relax, your not always gonna like what you see or hear with the media. and Stop looking for problems before they even exist.

Maybe you should try to look at the internet and messages boards as a fun place to discuss the things you do enjoy and not search so heavily for problems that dont exist yet without all the details. I wish there were more Latino Characters in the comic universe. but do you see me opening up pages and whining cause things didnt exactly go the way I wanted them to ?

if people want to comment after the story is complete I can understand that. but creating a problem and pulling out the race card on a company and making them look bad without all the details yet is just silly and shows alot about a persons character.

While you have your opinion and way of thinking, I can't be one who understands or would agree with it. If not for people seeing a problem in differences of equality, things would be a lot worse than it is now. Having the defeatist "well, that's how it is" mentality is very dangerous and allows nothing to prosper while letting the problem continue to go on. While yes, this is an art form, but it's still a form of media and its a form of media that continues to value the "majority" and sees no problem throwing minorities under the bus or not treating them as equals. People want to see minority couples on the same footing as white couples. The reason why the possibility of Storm and Panther having a divorce annoys people is because of the lack of black couples to begin with. It's no different from when people complained about a gay character being killed in various universe all within the same month and a lot of it was due to the lack of queer characters. Remember the issue when the Middle Eastern super-heroine was killed off in Aquaman? You can't understand why people were upset at that?

People are constantly fighting and asking for equal portrayal and will continue to do so. Some people get tired of asking for it and move onto someplace else where they'll be appreciated but if its a form you love and see the value of, it shouldn't be an issue to ask to be represented in a fair standing. People see injustice, they act. It's no different from people wanting representation in comic books, video games, movies, TV show, etc.

In response to Alphaxman's original post, as it concerns two of my favourite heroes...

Falcon: Redwing doesn’t count. I’m sure he has had one or two love interests in his long history, but I can’t think of one. He had a stronger love affair with Steve than with any woman I know of.



War Machine: I know he had a lover in his last series, but I didn’t get it, so I don’t know if she was black, white, or other.

Sam was with Leila Taylor in the 70s...
Rhodey had a relationship with Marcy Pearson, who worked at Stark Enterprises at the time.

Both relationships (black/black) were kinda on-and-off-again, but no more than with the average superhero civilian love interests. I don't know how Sam/Leila ended, as I found it was over when I saw him getting involved with a SHIELD Agent (Caucasian) in a mini series that was written by CHRISTOPHER PRIEST no less.

As for Rhodey/Marcy, that ended around 1990 when he first became War Machine and used his promotion to fire Marcy from Stark because... Umm, I think she was kind of being obnoxious with regard to Rhodey's promotion as she wanted that position in SE for herself.

For me, Storm and Wolverine should be married cos i can see their relationship will last forever. We've always seen them being close to each other like they're like lovers and even a couple so if Marvel will have them married, I don't think it's gonna be a problem.

As a black man, I can't fathom why people are so obsessed with how blacks or any other races are treated in comics, especially relationships which never last in comics anyway. I honestly could give two craps and this post is the same thing that gets repeated over and over again and shoudl be kept in that huge whine fest of a race thread in the community section.

You should have stopped at the "beat the dead horse part" because you are in fact beating a dead horse.

As also blacks ourselves(ahem...ladiesmostly...ahem)....we hv notice dat d only way any non-Caucasian xcter get b given progressive development in a relationship is if dat said xcter dates/huks-up with a Caucasian person. In other words, if both r non-Caucasian dey get next 2 zero progression in their relationship compared 2 white/white or white/non-white couples hence reinforce d cross-generational 'idea' dat d only way 2 b successful or b worth recognition is either spread ur legs 4 sum pink d*#$ or in a non-caucasian males case mk a white gal pregnant.

We agree dat relationships across race & ethnicity aint perfect & thus very foolish 2 even assume dat all realtionship can go d distance but when it is ...4 d MOST part...just white/white or white/non-white relationships dat get all d attention or @ least lasts much longer dan other well...........we'll just leave it @ dat.

But den again writer can only write....supposedly...wat dey know &/or wat dey can relate 2 thus we cant 'force' writers 2 write wat dey presumably dont understand which is d common excuse even right now.

Even in interracial relationships...white men r vastly illustrated & presented in d lead across d board & across all media.

As much as we/SZ vigorously also appreicate & support interacial relationships but hw cum only white xcters can date & fall in luv with each other but VERY rarely 4 non-white xcters irrespective of whether dey r d same non-white race or not? AND....develop r relationship?

Last we saw of dat was Forge(Native America SERIOUSLY illustrated as Caucasian...again wat r dey trying 2 say?) & Storm.

So although dis thread focuses on Black xcters specifically it actually widespread....especially post-Obama but we aint gonna get in2 dat.
