Knock Jim Shooter all you want. He at least tried to get every department in unison, for continuity sake.

So what is the longest ongoing solo series that "A List Character" Storm ever had?
    My blog.

We struggled against apartheid in South Africa, supported by people the world over, because black people were being blamed and made to suffer for something we could do nothing about; our very skins. It is the same with sexual orientation. It is a given.

#136 issues and counting, starting in Jan 2000. It's consistently in the top 10 for monthly sales.

That reasoning is utter Bullsh*t. Cable has been floating Deadpool for years..An entire Avengers team help lift ARES into popularity..but all of a sudden its such a travesty.
Emma is NOT a D-lister. Stop revising history to suit your illogical examples. Emma was headmistress in Generation X loooooooong before Morrison's New X-men. She was VERY well known in the X-comics before she and Scott every hooked up; as well as appearing the computer games and the animated T.V. series. I agree her relationship with Scott has helped boost her up; but that's in a team book setting. AND they are not married. The X-men are building the relationship up... not retconning it...

That said... for calling Emma a D-lister... you made MY LIST!!!

A "whole universe" free from the evils of ANY LGBT characters? Sounds charming...

Well why would they? Emma was a lower tier character whose pairing with Cyclops brought her up whereas Storm was a higher tier character whose pairing with the Panther brought her down.

That's not fair for Shooter. Homosexuality was a controversial topic (more so than now) back then and he prefer to keep controversy away from Marvel. Shooter was Marvel's best EiC, which is the reason so many fans have fond memories of the comics Marvel put out when he was EiC. And it also rolls over to his other projects like early Valiant, Defiant and Broadway. The man was a genius.

Agreed, I think he had many valiant points as editor (continuity and standing up to writers being two major ones) BUT he was at the very least a coward in regards to LGBT characters; at worst an active oppressor. Neither one is something the man should be proud of.

Shooter is a good example of how to run a comics company like a business, eschewing any sort of artistic endeavor.
He learned well from Mort Weisenger.

Jim Shooter was good for Marvel in the fact he came in and repaired some things. Because the guy was great at that aspect of coming in and fixing problems. Of course that was his main problem as well. He never knew when to stop its claimed and that hurt him by the end.

    Interesting u advocate dat 4 a disloyal man-whore but not a groundbreaking reality-realising Xavier dream like BP/Storm.

And say wat u will....we ALL know Logan BANGED both Rogue & Sage.

He's just a freakin closeted paedo....gropping young gals.

We all know it dat Logan will ditch Storm as soon as he hit it....& move on 2 'conquer' his next 'score'.

Dats just want u want isnt it...Logan banging chicks left & right is part of d xcters shtick.....& his fans luv him 4 it.

So wat does dat say about u suggesting lowering Storm 2 a cheap loose slut.

Nothing wrong with their fiendship so y complicate it UNNECESSARILY!

    Seriously?

Pretty much everything I need to know about race in mainstream comic books is summed up in the "Blood of the Beast" and "White Woman, Black Man", chapters of Eldridge Cleaver's Soul On Ice. It also explains why Black Panther's "perfection" frustrates so many people.

My Heroes For Hire: Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Misty Knight, Colleen Wing, The Falcon, Ant-Man (Scott Lang). White Tiger IV and Powerman would be interns.
