Axel had a good chance to step up and talk about female characters across Marvel NOW! and it's telling that he didn't - at all. The one character he was put on the spot for in Drew's question was answered by saying she "may" appear in a group title, and then was quick to point out how the single female character involved in the movie line-up would be spread across a number of books.
You might say it was reticence at revealing too much, but when asked a similar question about male characters, he waxed lyrical.
Your posting style looks like a retarded haiku. - Bronze Badger
Women are beautiful. But we're not here for your goddamn titillation. - junesdisco
At the very least, she shouldn't have put quotes around her post without indicating that Alonso didn't actually explicitly say that. You can have your own interpretation, but don't then say that that interpretation came explicitly from the mouth of someone else.
That said, no Black Widow is a major bummer and I think, what with the success of ScarJo's Widow in Avengers, that Marvel really missed the boat and the one opportunity to make a Widow solo book really work.
It wasn't addressed, but I'm wondering if Marvel NOW will slow down Marvel's double-shipping. I gotta imagine that by the end of Marvel NOW, Marvel will end up with more ongoing titles overall, Avengers is already explicitly shipping twice-monthly, and Marvel NOW! is clearly making a big deal about the creative teams - none of which will hold true for any time at all if aggressive double-shipping remains the order of the day (of course, that false advertising hasn't stopped Marvel from double-shipping the hell out of a book before - see Mike McKone drawing only the first two issues of the Final Execution arc of perennial double-shipper Uncanny X-Force despite all the promotion around his being the artist for that arc).
So, Ghost Rider and Blade are trying to be teacher's? W.T.F. Yeah. That's what fans of those characters want to read about. How clueless can they be?
No Moon Knight until they get around to Ultron War. Good to know that I have nothing to look forward to there.
Hopefully something good comes out of the Power Man and Iron Fist stuff in Avengers but it will probably be more crap like making them teachers or something else absolutely stupid.
This coupled with the fact that they are already emasculating the X-men with AVX with really leaves me nothing to look forward to from any of these announcements about Marvel NO!
More money for back issues I guess.
Hhhmmmm...I like Wonder Man for the first time in 30 years, I really hope they keep him a fringe/anti-hero character. Other than DA, I really can't see him fitting into any of the big hero groups.
Bring back my DC! In the meantime, make mine Marvel and Image!
I'm guessing the comment about Red She-Hulk means that he doesn't expect it to last until the end of the promotion and hence doesn't want its predicted failure to drag down the rest of the titles?
Those Wolverine & the X-Men pages are clearly not drawn by Nick Bradshaw. That's Jorge Molina. Most likely those pages are from issue 15 out in August. Molina is the listed artist on that book.
LOL! Ghost Rider teacher might be the funniest thing in a while.
Today's lesson: Dont make deals with the Devil.
But that might be ignored if, you know, you are a popular hero cause.... the devil might not be that evil with them.
Anyway, i got 12 hours, let's get cracking Nick Lowe!
50 shades of Jean Grey.
Would it sell?
New, Captain MArvel
Seriously, people go out and buy it.
