I'd suggest staying away from Resurrection. Far, far away.....It's crap.

I loved everything Morrison did from Batman & Son through RIP, except for Resurrection of Ra's Al Ghul. That cross-over was a complete let-down, and not even Morrison's portion of the cross-over is worth reading.

Resurrection really means nothing, but my favorite writers are Milligan, Morrison, and Nicieza, so I'll be checking it out myself once I've gotten through the Morrison mega-story. Sometimes you just gotta see for yourself.

This. Resurrection of Ra's Al Ghul has absolutely no bearing on Morrison's ongoing story because Morrison had no intention of using him.

I just reread the whole run over the weekend, using websites with annotations, and it was one of the most rewarding experiences I've had reading a comic books. I used a different type of reading order as suggested by one of the site http://nerdynothings.com/comic-nothi...-reading-list/ and, I thought it made for a more focused and linear story. I suggest it, if you are looking for something different (although, I'm sure I'm probably late on this whole thing, anyway.) on your next read-thru. Here's the list

Final Crisis #6
52 #30 (only one I couldn't read, because I only have the trades)
Batman #655-658 (Batman & Son)
Batman #663 (The Clown at Midnight)
Batman #664-665 (The Ghosts of Batman)
Batman #667-669 (The Club of Heroes)
Batman #672-675 (The Three Batmen saga)**
Batman #676-681 (RIP)
Batman #666***
Batman #701, 682-683, 702 (Final Crisis)
Batman & Robin #1-9****
Return of Bruce Wayne #1
Batman & Robin #10
Return of Bruce Wayne #2-3
Batman & Robin #11-12
Return of Bruce Wayne #4-5
Batman & Robin #13-15
Return of Bruce Wayne #6
Batman & Robin #16
Batman #700*****

(his notes)

*RoBW #6 makes clear that Bruce’s Thogul experience in 52 is an integral part of Morrison’s story.
**I have chosen to omit the Ra’s Al Ghul crossover that occupied #670-671 as it really has no bearing on Morrison’s overarching story, or anything else for that matter.
***This book was placed here for thematic reasons… I felt it would fit nicely at a time when things looked darkest for Batman.
****At this point, I start mixing in Return of Bruce Wayne with Batman & Robin. This way, Dick & Damian uncover things in the present as they happen to Bruce in the past, and I’ve tried to shuffle them in in a way that makes that process most compelling.
*****Again, placed thusly for thematic reasons. I feel the conclusion of B&R #16 connects nicely with the message of #700.

Also, here are some good sites for page to page anntotations:

http://morrisonbatman.blogspot.com/2...atman-665.html
http://funnybookbabylon.com/category...tions-reviews/

Big thumbs up to David Uzumeri (maybe he reads this site), who is responsible for the page-to-page annotations on these two links.

Again, I'm probably late on this one, but I found all this info to be real useful, and it really furthered my enjoyment of the run as a whole.

That's a really interesting reading order. I intend to try it out next time I read through Morrison's run.

Did want to add that none of the links you posted seem to be working, though. They all turn up 404 errors.

I'm in the process of doing a systematic re-read of the whole thing as well, including all the Final Crisis Morrison-penned stuff, and just doing my own annotations for the sake of my own clarity. I suspect they'll be a little less plot/detail driven than most of those already online, and more about theme and subtext, but I'll be posting them on my blog over the next few weeks. Here is the first one:

Really good read. I don't own 52 currently, even though I've read it, so this was a nice refresher. And I absolutely echo your sentiments about The New Frontier. Cooke hit upon a brilliant reason for Batman wanting to change his image.

thanks for the confirmation. even though i already have all the morrison issues, i've decided to get all the deluxe editions. ordered the batman vs the black glove and the three batman & robin volumes. so i still need to grab RIP, return of bruce wayne, and batman, inc. and i don't think the resurrection of ra's al ghul has the deluxe treatment either.

Batman: The Black Casebook is a cool read as well, to see where some of Morrison's wacky ideas came from.

Yeah, it really was an awesome read. I feel like a truly have a firmer grasp on the story as a whole now. I know I give the Morrison enthusiasts s**t around here, but there is no denying that this run is just so well written, and that it really runs very deep. I still like my dark and gritty over my zany and campy, and I'm glad that Dickbats was just a stint (it was awesome, but Bruce is Batman), but I love how everything in the mythos is fair game.

I've read the first two stories from Batman, Inc. now and I must say they kinda disappoint... I really liked Black Glove, Batman & Son and RIP. I thought The Return of Bruce Wayne and Time & The Batman were OK.

I'd like to know what other people think about Batman, Inc. Does it get progressively better?
