Good to know that man is all right then...Is the murder she commits on the next page an indicator that her humanity is gone, at least for now?
Yes, but she didn't necessarily murder the guy. He's brain-fried, so he might still be alive physically, but mentally he's done for.

The comment on Cyclops was interesting: it reminded me of the line in "The Replacement Killers" you don't have to be the one to pull the trigger to commit murder/and or kill someone. (something along those lines)
Oho, bunch of X-Men prostrate in front of Emma Frost?
I bet you it's an "All shall love me and despair!" scene.
Bad news everyone...
Yeah. That's tough! Oh goodness gracious. What are they making Emma do? I guess since she lost her humanity I don't know if it is really Emma. I'm not sure we have ways of talking about "people" who have lost their "humanity." But geez.
So Jason Aaron is happy to write Emma into oblivion? The other writers of the event thought this would be fun to trash her? Really? They had better have an amazing twist or something.
And Scott... is getting off Scott free in this whole mess-- staying true and what not. Okay. Good for Cyclops and Cyclops fans, but really?
It is a bit much for me.
That teaser picture is Hentai in the making. Emma will use her Phoenix powers to go all Futanari on us.

I think it's interesting that Cyclops seems to be the least affected by the Phoenix. He's been affected a little, but it still seems like he's in control, even with his increased powers as a result of three of the five going down.
And I'm so glad Storm and Black Panther are breaking up. It seems like ever since she got married to him, she hasn't done jack. She's gotten a little face time here and there (and is getting more in Brian Wood's X-Men), but she's mostly been window dressing for the last few years. She's too good a character for that.
As for next issue, yeah, Emma seems to be long gone. Wonder what she's gonna do that'll make Cyke try and take her out.
Okay no.
Especially as an Emma fan, the whole thing just seems way off base. The series is exciting but's also quite aggravating to watch her get ripped apart like this. The whole thing where Aaron says that Cyclops is struggling but staying true-- as opposed to him saying Cyclops has become fixated with Hope because of the Phoenix, just makes it seem even worse in my mind. I like Spider-man but they through this mega-mega sop to Spider-man and Spider-man fans. Spidey on a cover will sell an issue but jeez. It just feels off-balance to me. Especially given that there is 0 doubt that the Avengers will clean up.
It's like this event was, among other thingsfor all the people who hated Emma. Lets just prove all the people who never liked Emma right! if you want to kill her just kill her. Don't make her last 5 issues a nightmare...
I'm pretty sick to death of AvX, but I will say generally the creators have done a good job of making the Phoenix Force amplify each of the P5's innate characteristics: Namor's pride and anger, Emma's manipulative nature and fierce protection of mutants, Colossus' sensitivity (in WATX) and constant worrying (in AvX #9), Illyana's demonic side, and Scott's big-picture-determination-blinds-him-to-what's-going-on-right-under-his-nose-ness.
Forget the nonsensical Aaron commentary, does the first sentence of the article imply that Wanda is now A-List?
The sad thing is about Cyclops is for a man that focus on being perfect and finding perfections, maybe he has no flaws since he so focus on doing good and is blinded to the outside world around him.![]()
