Default Martian Manhunters, green and white Martians questions

So, with all the powers that the Martian Manhunter has, I'd assume that all his race and the white Martians would have been universe explorers (green Martians) and universe conquerors (white Martians). Why didn't eithe race really go beyond mars and do anything beyond destroy each other? I know the greens created the red saturnians and the whites created the white saturnians. But beyond that they never did enough to make a name for themselves in the universe. And how is it that J'onn didn't just fly back home after Erdel teleported him to earth? Why didnt the white or green martians come to earth before J'onn? And why aren't the yellow Martians a Martian race after COIE? I think they need to be brought back. Anyway, these are some random thoughts off the top of my head. I was wondering if anyone ever thought of the same stuff about the Martians from mars.

On one story of Joe Kelly's JLA(please correct me if im wrong on that one) its reveal that the Guardians of the Universe kind of hinder the development of the Martian race to prevent it from spreading across the Galaxy and they also put the fire weakness on them in a way of a psychological weakness, physically they arent harm by fire but they have a mental suggestion that creates the damage

    A couple of things...

The Greens were largely isolationist, so much so that they rejected and resented the authority of a Green lantern sent to them. As per Ostrander's MM series. They colonized the entire solar system at one point, but then pulled back.

The White martians DID come to earth, experimented on and enslaved early humanity, and it was this experimentation that prevented humanity from developing to their full potential as the new cradle of the gods, retarding their growth. The Green Martians punished them for this, their great shame. This was all revealed in Morrison's first arc on JLA.

Originally J'onn couldn't fly interstellar distances. Ultimately it was revealed Erdel transported him not just through space but through time; Martian Civilization was long dead now. And even as he was being teleported away, his entire planet was dying of a plague created by J'onn's brother Malefic; he was a Martian who worshipped Darkseid and the New gods of Apokolips and did all sorts of horrible things to the native Martian populace. For his madness, his telepathy was removed, which drove him even further insane, but also cured him of the psychological weakness to fire. As a revenge plot he created the Burning Plague, which killed all the martians on the planet. J'onn was snatched just as everyone around him was dying, IIRC. All in Ostrander's MM series.

As mentioned above, Joe Kelly's "Trial By Fire" makes it clear that the Whites and the Reds had one common, extremely aggressive and destructive ancestor called the Burning Martian, who wasn't afraid, but instead WAS fire, worshipped fire, and needed fire to reproduce asexually. Seeing that they could be too dangerous a force in the universe they took them, dissected them, weakened them and inserted a weakness to fire into their genetic memory to curb their influence.

I remember hearing something about the guardians doing something to make the Martians scared of fire. Do Martians remember this event and hold a grudge or disrespect for the guardians?

The White Martian experiments would have pre-dated him, since humans are the result of them. However, Vandal once killed a traumatized Guardian and kept the head of one of the White Martians that he had been fighting. Protex (the leader of the White Martian invaders in Morrisons opening JLA story) said they first arrived on Earth when Mankind were just potential genetic material in jellyfish.
