Great to see the Spider-Man cover thread back.
There is a bunch of variant covers in this thread that i had never seen before.
Thanks for resurecting one that was my favorite thread in this board.

Would be tough to guess this was a Kubert cover.
Granted the Spider-Man looks a bit like he usually illustrates the character, but that Lizard does not look like it was illustrated by him.
Over all it looked first to be more of a cover by Dan Brereton.

yehey the cover thread is back...i really miss the old threads here. The collection thread, the last tpb you read thread etc. So many variant covers for the past months esp those 50th anniversary ones.

Pedro, your post reminds me to tell you diehard collectors -- the 50th anniversary variants are going to be hard to get. My LCS isn't going to be able to qualify for them. Luckily they have partnered up with a comic book store that can qualify for them.

If you really want these variants, you might want to make advance plans with your comic book store.

Does anyone know the exact rarity of the Decade set for 692?

    Impossible to say...

My understanding is that the retailer had to order 150% of 692 compared to some other Spidey issue in the past. Then once they qualified, they were able to order as many sets of the Decade variants as they wanted at (I think) $29.95.

So, it's not a ratio variant -- is the short answer...

Man, those Martin 50 years covers looks so damn GORGEOUS, I can stare at them all day. In fact they should make posters of them, they would hang proudly in my house!!!!!!!

I pre ordered 2 sets from 2 different retailers to make sure I get one. I don't think they are going to be ultra rare, but I do think they will be harder to come by. As not all retailers will qualify to buy the sets.

Since Marvel is keeping the most recent issue covers that were solicited #694,695 & 696 under wraps I thought I'd show some variant covers and convention exclusive covers.

I recognize just about all of these costumes, except the one overlooking them all? Is that the new Spider Armor that he used right after Marla died?

    I found...

Classic Red & Blue Twice one with arm pit webs
    Black Costume
    Iron Spidey Costume
    Future Foundation Costume
    Ben Reilly Spider-Man Costume
    Tron Inspired Big Time Suite
    Scarlet Spider
    Cosmic Spider-Man
    Spider-Man 2099
    Wrestler Costume (in background)

So I'm not sure what costume the one with the back to the viewer is...

Maybe the current Venom costume or one of the new Big Time Suits.
