Hands down Christopher Priest. He is exactly what marvel needs, a writer who isnt a fanboy pole-rider to give a fresh, and adult spin to some of the well-worn overused, often repeated stuff that passes for top writing these days.

Grant Morrison, Brian K. Vaughan, Geoff Johns, and a committed Warren Ellis (if such a thing exists)......and Scott Snyder (hey, he wrote that Iron Man: Noir mini before his career took off. He counts.)

Of course, if Morrison, Johns, and Snyder suddenly all left Marvel right now, they might as well close their doors.

Brian K. Vaughan, and I'd magically get Bill Mantlo and Kurt Busiek up to perfect health while I was at it.

People really seem to undervalue Mantlo these days, but he wrote some really amazing stuff. His Micronauts series was one of the best SF comics I ever read, I think, despite being based on a toy line.

Yeah, he was like the gold standard for the 80's but others have caught up and surpassed him.

Ron Marz. His Surfer run is still my favourite run of any comic ever (nostalgia is great).

I'd do anything to have Stern writing Avengers again.

I know he was mostly an artist, but i'd bring back Jack Kirby, because I bet his loved ones miss him.

Frank Miller doing a Captain America story (cue indignant responses) and returning to Elektra.
Larry Hama would be great on a S.H.I.E.L.D. book.
John Byrne back on X-Men, as long as he did the art too.

I'd like to see a lot of the original writers returning to characters they created. That means Marv Wolfman Blade, Doug Moench Moon Knight, Len Wein Wolverine.
