I don't mind it happening outside of continuity, since I've always tried to ignore the UU outside of USM.

Peter's reaction at seeing Gwen was way too understated. Is Pete on mood-altering meds?

The cover seems to show Miles in some sort of distress. Maybe critically injured. Maybe Peter will have to find that Zodiac Key to save his life. Maybe in the process he'll give May and Gwen their Peter Parker back too. Maybe the title of the series will become Ultimate Comics Spider-men.

It takes place after issue #12 (death of Aaron) but before #14 (web shooters). Fury throws things off but really who cares? That's minor. Miles doesn't have his shooters yet and Aaron is supposed to be dead. Bendis threw Fury in because an ultimate/616 crossover needs him. This story wouldn't be as awesome with Flumm.

Again as of issue #13 Miles has no webs. Will he get them in issue 14 or 15? We won't know until those issues come out.

And for all we know Miles could have his webs and it not have shown it yet. Heck he could have just gotten them and not know how to use them correctly thus until he can learn he just doesn't use them.

This is how it'll all work into continuity:
Holding out for a Peter/Miles team up.

Don't forget Fury's eye patch of doom.

That's how Fury will escape continuity this time. The MIB is for all of the readers so they don't question anything they just read since they'll never remember it. All of the Spider-Men issues shall then return to Marvel HQ and everyone will be wondering just where their $20 went. It's Marvel's latest and greatest pyramid scheme.

I don't understand why 616 Spidey is shocked at alternate universes. During the "Identity Wars" crossover he had to fight against an alternate version of himself who had been killing a bunch of other alternate Spider-Men. Beyond that, he's really good friends with the FF, and they're all about other dimensions. His shock here seems sort of overly convenient.
Primary pulls: X-Factor, Hawkeye, Young Avengers, Avengers Arena, X-Men: Legacy, Uncanny X-Force, FF, Archer and Armstrong

It's the Bendis effect. Any previous continuity will be irrelevant.

I like that, the "Bendis effect." It sounds so scientific.

The true question about the Bendis Effect is, is continuity irrelevant to it or does it simply erode so much of the continuity that it becomes irrelevant? Or am I thinking of the Loeb Effect?

Isn't the Loeb Effect different in that things that made sense about characters are completely ignored? Example: Ultimate Pyro being a hero, and idol and a kind hearted person, only for Loeb to turn him into a villainous rapist scumbag.

I think Bendis effect mostly affects degrees of continuity and personality but the Loeb affects things on a greater scale.

Bendis would be a 4.0 Ritcher's scale, while Loeb would be... ... ... off the chart.

Seriously, way to mess this up Bendis. Peter's reaction makes no sense at all. He knows there are other worlds. Apparently Bendis didn't read last years Amazing Spider-Man Annual
(or any other Spider-Man stories where he interacts with parallel universes or whatever for that matter)
