ok this i like, for some reason the Dialogue was really working for me this time (and i am NOT a bendis Dialogue fan) i dont care for how cap was drawn but other than that the art is good
Wow, Tony Stark really comes off as a dick in this. I realized he's stressed, but good lord...even the movie version has some sense of decorum.
The art is good, but am the only one who thinks Deodato's version of Xavier is basically Norman Osborn without hair?
Well...
Hm...
The good news is that Doctor Strange has more lines in that preview than he's had in all of AvX so far.
The bad news is that it looks about as interesting as sitting in on a board meeting.
Where is Black Bolt? Or is he still dead?
Sigh - great art, crap writing. I know Tony Stark (or is that Snark?) can be a bit of a jerk at times, but this makes me wince for fans of the character. I will be quite happy when Bendis ends his run on this book. It's painful to read. The only saving grace reamins the artists.
Wake me up when it's over...
hmm.. this issue is going to be interesting.
It's that decompression. He needs to keep the pedal to the floor instead of all that introduction. Goodness.
So, Namor and Black Bolt have the remaining two gems right and neither is there, so no chance of an Infinity Gauntlet class offensive, then.
Johnny Storm was dead; who is this resurrected Johnny Storm?
"Here, hold my Annihilus…" Johnny Storm, Fantastic Four #601
Well, there's some information here at least:
-They won't use the Infinity Gems to deal with the PF (actually sound reasoning)
-Depending on when this happens Cap is either too trusting and has not grasped the situation (pre-wakanda, which would be consistent with AvX #8) or he's an idiot (post Wakanda). He wants Namor back after what he did? And how exactly does he think even if Namor suddenly agrees with them he will be able to influence PF Scott?
-Stark is snarky and Bendis can only tell stories about people sitting around a table.
FINALLY, a writer acknowledges some of Namor's long time relationships. Though, it only took Namor becoming a Phoenix for Cap to remember he even knew Namor. He's like that old war buddy that completely forgot his 'friend's' existence, until he saw he'd won the lottery, and now calls him up wanting something from him.
I expect more trash talk, with only Strange coming out of this looking good.
Deodato's art is pretty.
I didn't see that with Xavier.
And yes. Agreed entirely about Stark's depiction. I await his suggestion to Cap that they throw Sue at Namor ... again.
Black Bolt was replaced by Medusa, who was replaced by Cap. And no. He's not dead now. He's currently in FF.
It's official. Bendis has no idea what to do with the Avengers since the Heroic Age started.
