Yknow what seriously that interviewer is a pompous douchebag. He was outright disrespectful and came in there with a bone to pick. When someone goes off like that you did something wrong.

Outside of that I applaud Tarantino for his courage. This movie is a fantasy with slavery as the backdrop. I applaud him for willingly sparking a conversation.

Marvel’s AKA Jessica Jones Could Find New Home, Producer Says
    Tuesday, January 15th, 2013 at 7:45am

However, once she settles in, she discovers her services are sought by clients with superhero connections. Melissa Rosenberg, best known for her work on the Twilight franchise and Showtime’s Dexter, had said her pilot script included Luke Cage and Carol Danvers in prominent supporting roles.
Marvel’s corporate sibling, Rosenberg told IGN it may be better suited for cable television. “I don’t know if it’s an ABC show,” she said. “It might be a cable show, really. The graphic novel is the first one that Marvel did that was meant to serve an adult audience. I toned it down a little bit for network, but it’s very, very easy to translate that into cable. Very easy. God I love that project [...] it’s one of my favorite things that I’ve ever written.”

Well, that was a weird but entertaining interview. Quentin handled himself alright on the issue of the 'conversation of racism'... then the interviewer tried to hammer "A Question of Violence" issue on him.

because Kevin Hart is popular. the original shorts that sparked the show were funnier, but as a parody, it captures the essence of The Real Housewives/Mob wives/Basketball Wives/Ex-Wives of ____/etc

Life of Pi was very, VERY good; and I would recommend everyone see it. From Ang Lee (the only non-Caucasian to win Best Director at the Oscars) it focuses on a young Indian man (Suraj Sharma)'s struggle for survival in the ocean... with only a Bengal tiger for company. Nominated for a staggering 11 Oscars; this film is just beautiful. It's funny, it's moving, and it was described as "unfilmable" for years. Ang Lee proved them ALL wrong! I am very sad Irrfan Khan ONCE AGAIN failed to bag any major nominations for his excellent low-key performance (over-looked for Slumdog Millionaire (2008) also); though Best Supporting Actor was a tough category to get in this year (even Leo failed to do it). I would love it to win Best Director (could this be the dark horse to topple Spielberg?) and Best Adapted Screenplay (as I said... "unfilmable"); but I'm mostly hoping it gets a clean sweep in Editing, Sound Mixing, Sound Editing, and Visual Effects. WHY was it not up for Best Make-up? Pi's water-logged damaged skin looked very real.

If you have a great T.V., do watch it; but if not I would recommend the cinema (just for the 3D). I don't like 3D, except when done by one of the greats. I loved Hugo (2011) and would put Life of Pi (2012) in the same list.

Byrne's always had a good feel for "hard SF" even when doing stuff like Fantastic Four or Green Lantern, whatever else his issues are.

I picked up this issue. A very good read.

    I'm on board for now.
