Bendis should have left Dr Voodoo alone. Remender did a much better job with him in his short lived series.
I really don't know how anyone can even keep a straight face when arguing against valid observations of Marvel's messed up mishandling of Black males in their books.

Bendis messed up Voodoo and Cage both overtly and covertly but managed to convince some that he was down with diversity just because hr had cage front and centre as the New Avengers steel skinned punching bag.

Oh, and Daniel Drumm's in hell, while Strange is SS again.
AND Bendis gave an "out" for death for Hellstrom and Kale, but NOT Victoria Hand. I was so sad reading that whole issue... it was a BAD day for diversity.

Agreed. And not just for Cage, but for ALL the Timebolts.

    Ditto for Dr Voodoo.
I would disagree about Jericho. I don't think (in the long run) it would have done more harm than good. It definitely made his profile bigger, he got a mini-series; and made Remender a fan (so hopefully down the line, he can reappear). I think Jericho not coming back at the end was shocking, and WRONG... but in the long run... I do think Bendis helped Jericho's career. Fingers crossed.

I think this is a little too conspiracy theory for my tastes. Regardless of how it ended, Luke was the star of New Avengers for over 5 years; and because of that focus got a mini-series and to lead the Thunderbolts (for over 30 issues!!!). Jericho's profile was vastly increased by being made Sorcerer Supreme; and he got a mini-series. It's not all doom and gloom; and both BENEFITED from Bendis, even if it ended... less than we would have hoped...

There is a silver lining, though, in that mystical characters are really easy to bring back. Especially ones named "Brother Voodoo".

Hopefully someone makes good on bringing back Heroes For Hire.
My Heroes For Hire: Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Misty Knight, Colleen Wing, The Falcon, Ant-Man (Scott Lang). White Tiger IV and Powerman would be interns.

    Pretty much.

Really, Bendis needs to stay the hell away from all magic characters.

    Especially Brother. Voodoo.

Nope. He's a character of color, namely a Black one.

The rules of magic don't matter in his case. All that matters is that it happened.

Heh heh. Voodoo's book was canceled so fast that everybody has retconned it in their memories to being a mini...

that's how i feel about it. Cage used to easily be in my top 3 characters list. and Daniel Drumm was a straight up punk in this finale.

Just do a new Powerman & Iron Fist series. Pair up Cage and Rand as heroes for hire and all...the series could write itself.

Yeah, a Cage and Rand series seems like a no brainier to me.
Plus great guest stars like Misty, Jess, Coleen, Shang Chi and maybe some Immortal Weapons. I mean...that's guaranteed to kick ass, right? As close to a guarantee as you can get anyways.

Rumor now that Bendis and Deodato may be doing something like a Heroes for Hire book. I'm there if so.
