I'm not a huge history buff to say how historically accurate it was (I have heard there were a few liberties), but as a whole the film was very good.

I keep hearing good things about Lincoln, I think Daniel day Lewis is one of if not the leading actor of his generation. I really want to see it as I love history and I like examining that time period especially. I spent so much time studying the macro historical elements during that time that I look forward to seeing Lincoln the politician.
o
I hear that the movie is based on the last month of Lincoln's life and the book "Team of Rivals".
But I haven't seen it yet.
Last movie I saw was Skyfall.
Before that, Argo.
This kid is awesome.

Honestly, the article from the New York Times ("In Spielberg’s ‘Lincoln,’ Black People are "Passive") told me all I needed to know about the film. Not unlike Amistead, Spielberg romanticizes those who disagreed with slavery and probably never goes into detail about "why" they wanted to get rid of by it. The African/African-American slaves are just sitting around waiting to be rescued by mighty Whitey in movie that doesn't address the proactive Black figures in that point of time.

My normal response for this use to be "HALLE BERRY'S NAKEDNESS MAN!!!!!!!!!!!" but now with a sane mind....................your observation is correct
So you missed the many jokes and put downs( mainly said by Emma to O.Snooks face ) questioning BP's man hood? Never saw anyone who dated a x-woman get their man hood questioned before, during or after the marriage. They ended itin a crappy manor and got one back to the x-books where she can be written in the big manor they've wanted to do for years but couldn't but now suddenly they can't let it go and want to bring BP back into the x-books( which I won't be picking up since I'm part of the x-books boycott )

I adore America, and loved living there; but I would also say it's probably the most racist country I've been too (to my knowledge). Until the US, I had only ever heard the "n" word said in films.
Ohhhhh, is Argo (2012) as good as it looks?
Another Amistad (1997)? Oh dear... Greg's fine work encouraging me to see the film has taken a dent due to this article. Only two parts of Amistad impressed me; Sir Anthony Hopkins in the last role he gave a damn about; and the horrific moment of throwing the slaves over-board, tied to one another; and the inevitabilty of what was about to happen to the others still on board. Neither of which justify Matthew McConaughey's awful wig!
In Age of X the world only existed around Utopia (where T'Challa wasn't at the time). Everyone was paired differently (Cyclops/Frenzy); why should Storm be exempted from an altered history in... ya know... an altertered reality.
The only reason to watch that film is Heath Ledger's great performances; everything else... meh!
I'd be SHOCKED if Bishop wasn't a member of Uncanny X-force by the end of the arc. It's clearly where the comic is going (he's the perfect candidate).
