I'm definitely getting this! Loved the original!
I suspect (judging from some of the pages) that Chaykin must have, at least in part, been a bit influenced by the manga of Toshio Maeda (La Blue Girl, Urotsukidoji) not that there's anything wrong with that, mind you.

I'll get the hardcover of this when it comes out. CHaykin's been doing a lot of mainstream superhero work the last few years, which never seemed the best use of his talents. This kind of stuff i why I read Chaykin.

i was bummed when i didnt see this listed in the comixology app store

this was just boring (which was quite an achievement given some of the imagery) - some theory nonsense about cinema and then someone on the titanic and that was it.
no story, no characterisation, nothing. art was very nice but far too much repetition in panels - ie outside cinema - its just same static background for a page which basically happens twice with the shading around cinema slowly being removed on one page and the crowd shown leaving cinema in another page. Inside cinema the crowd scene is just repeated for whole page - it can be an efefctive technique but three pages of it in a 20 page book just felt lazy and half arsed.
some nice scenes here and there - the irish girl and the jewish guy in the cinema, and the lines of men for the prostitute on the ship were cool but otherwise this was really weak for me"...so Hitler sends Iron Jaw's son to America to get revenge on Crimebuster." S.H.
