    Default Avenging Spider-Man 10 SPOILERS

So, quick recap from the preview:

Carol shoots Robyn Hood to get her to increase in size again, knowing her rocket pack won't be able to keep her in flight and she crashes back on the bridge. She's good at physics. Spider-Man's good at physics too. Later he comes to the conclusion that Robyn's suit is going to explode (something about gasses). Carol in the meantime is trying to get the whole situation cleaned up and we're shown a guy from Blackbird/the National bank (the place that made the robot suits in the prior issue) showing up claiming Robyn is their property. Robyn is also a robot! (with biological mutant parts. A cyborg!) Anyway when they find out the suit is going to explode Carol ends up talking everyone down and then following Robyn to the top of a building (who started walking there on her own while she and Spider-Man spoke about power, responsibility and friendship). Carol arrives, understanding what Robyn wanted and throws the 50 foot Robyn into the air where she explodes, right after thanking Spider-Man for being her friend despite being a machine. Back at Carol's hangar, Carol tells Peter he still owes her a secret and so he whispers it into her ear. The text is too small so we may never know, but apparently it was unexpected. Then they part ways after Carol offers to give Peter a lift any time he wants to go to Boston. The last page we learn that Robyn hood survived in the form of data on her creators laptop, her creator being a woman who looks almost identical to Robyn except the hair and works at Blackbird. Or formerly worked, she may have been fired/quit after trying to help Carol and Robyn on the bridge.

    Hooboy, so some thoughts:

    1. Carol knowing how to take Robyn down was great.
    2. Carol handling the cops, Blackbird guys was also great.
    3. Peter and Robyn reminded me of the film Iron-Giant, a lot.

A lot of the stuff I couldn't really fit into the recap. It's just great dialog. This is totally what the Avenging series needs to be from here on, with the guest star in the spotlight without diminishing Spider-Man's role. The art was again awesome. 10/10.

My bad if there's already a thread, F3 didn't find any.

Forgot to mention, the secret was totally, "I also know how Hawkeye got that thing on his butt."

I really loved this issue. I loved that even the "punchy lady" was shown to use her brains. I wish we could see more superheroes actually acting with intelligence and strategy in fights/conflicts beyond just the genius types.

Pretty okay, not the greatest thing (Then again this week was quite awesome in comics and this had to compete with Ultimate Divided We Fall and Daredevil which were beyond amazing) but it was quite a good story and I enjoyed everything.

Glad we haven't seen the last of Robyn, I guess this is what leads to the Spider-man/Aunt May team up.

Would have liked it if Robyn was actually human.

Okay, so. I was totally with this issue until it was revealed that the reason Robyn was built was to get a person inside the Occupy movement. And two things came to mind. First and foremost, @!#!@# the Occupy movement. But more importantly...uh, if you want a person in the Occupy movement, why not just put a person into the Occupy movement? Instead of building a humanoid robot with an oddly-specific power set? What kind of bank is this again? First National Bank of Latveria? Roxxon Mutual? Oscorp Savings and Home Loans? ("Our killer robots are big so your interest rates stay small!")

Also, Robyn's "mother" should have been introduced as a character in the previous issue; she comes in too late, here, and it doesn't gel with the pacing of the story. And Robyn's "death" was totally Captain Marvel's fault; surprised no one called her on it.

Yeah, I noticed that. The treatment of Robyn reminded me of Juston's Sentinel in AA, but it's strange because she actually looks and acts like a person. A weird person.

And the more I think about it, the more the 50-foot woman thing bugs me. What was the point of that, on any level? Why make a robot that can do that? Wouldn't the bank have known she could do that? Why send guys armed with energy weapons after her? From a storytelling perspective, what was the point? She doesn't fight or anything, so...was the whole purpose the admittedly cool cover?

Robyn and her creator deserve their own title. Fighting corporate injustice all over the world. I would read it.
There's a bit of Spider-Man in all of us.

I suspect the bank wanted a 'superhero' in the movement, one completely loyal and that could be programed to do whatever they want. it's clear something went wrong and it was never put into the field.

Marvel universe is a much stranger place than our universe! The powers she displayed might of came from her 'mother' if thats where the organics came from.

By the way I loved every aspect of this issue. Very happy Robyn has lived in some form.

She just needs a new body, I suspect we have not seen the last of her.

I wouldn't be surprised if you were actually right with one of those.

Anyway, i'm sure Robyn and her mother will be the center-point for the next issue (since Pete's staying at Boston for the issue) so it'll probably flow better in narrative if you take it as a 3-issue story.

Come to think of it trying to infiltrate an anti corporate protest group with a AI is probably one of the least evil things a company in the Marvel U has ever done.
