The whole "The Phoenix is turning me into something" to me sounds a whole like the old "they made me do it!" remark that a three-year-old makes when they act out. I think that's a bit demeaning for Emma, but I'll wait and see for myself what the scene does. Once she and Cyclops are the only ones with the Phoenix, it's sure to get that much more volatile.
lol there's always going to be someone with an agenda who complains about the way Emma is depicted no matter what. If she's too nice they've neutered her character because of Cyclops. If she does something morally grey people will complain they're only making her bad to foil to Cyclops. No matter how this story resolves the same people who have an axe to grind when it comes to Emma will still find a way to feel victimised or whatever.

lol it's odd. Post AVX Cable is the only thing i'm even slightly excited for post AVX. I have no interest in the 05 story with modern Cyclops/Wolverine fawning about the way things were etc and Wolverine & The Avengers ft the X-Men is repugnant. I hope Cable brings back X-Force and fucks around with Cap and Fury.

2 characters could die. Emma kills Xavier and Cyclops kills her.

Depends on who the one writer was. Not Aaron or Bendis for sure. Bru has been the best so far.

I don't think them being ''bad guys'' is the problem, it's how they've written it that's been a mess.

It doesn't matter what they look like for the most part, it matters what they represent.

Worse than Bendis? #8 was terrible. Hickman wrote #6, which is where the event peaked, but admittedly, his earlier issue was awful. Either way, this discussion is like searching for gold in manure, lol.

Maybe to you, but when I see a bunch of beautiful white people complain about how oppressed they are, I roll my eyes.

It really is. The only one I had time for was Brubaker.

this book blows chunks. sacred spider-cow talking illyana and pete into taking each other out was pathetic. that whole hospital scene with the avengers was terrible too, reminded me of that ghastly NHS number from the opening ceremonies. not even storm and bp splitting up was worth it, because all she does is give sad face and beg him to let her help the avengers.

matt fraction is the only writer who has written an issue worth it's price tag since act 2 started. this is awful.

Well, there's always the restoration of the mutant population. Which was the whole reason Cyclops wanted the Phoenix to come to Earth in the first place and, despite he and the other Phoenix Five literally having the power of omnipotent gods, seem incapable of doing. Seriously, Hope needs to tell Scott "What do you need me for? YOU have had the power of Phoenix for DAYS now. You, Emma, and the others could've restored the mutants any time you wanted. Unless it is YOU who aren't worthy of the Phoenix."

Oddly enough I read people theorizing the Phoenix force would be split between different hosts in this very forum before the event even started, that wasn’t a surprise either.

No apparently the Phoenix itself needs Hope to restore mutants. The P5 can't do it for some reason.

How so? To see a bunch of straight white people complain about oppression in America warrants an eye-roll in most occasions. I know what the X-men are supposed to represent, but when they all take the form of the historically least oppressed group in America, it can be aggravating to actual minorities.

LOL Poor Storm. Now she's going to have to find a new sugar daddy to bank roll her busy living activities of shopping and sitting on her fat ass all day.

What an awful awful path this story has gone down.

    Absolute trainwreck.

I doubt Emma will die. If anything Cyclops has a higher chance of dying than her.

Was it my imagination, or did I see Professor X slice a demon in half with some sort of psychic katana? I know I am not up to date on my X-men, but did Professor X gain additional powers? Or are demons just weak to telepathic energy?
