^ This. With the increased Phoenix power, Emma is going to go haywire and Cyclops will have to do some damage control and take her out. After a tough and emotional battle with his GF, the Avengers/X-Men/Scarlet Witch/Hope will combine to take out Cyclops.

In essence they are the most revent thing to it. You can thorow in the bit that Being a Avengerr means that Wanda is automaitical justified also if that makes you happy.

What has Scott ever done that comes close to being as evil as what Wanda did?

Who cares? Wanda's crazy has been retconned out. It's like complaining about the nerf that fireball got in the second addition of the player's guide compared to how overpowered it was in the first.

He has been a douche. Sosa and McGwire were celebrated during their steroid induced HR chase because they were the likeable guys who saved baseball. Bonds who had always been a bit of a douche breaks their record and suddenly everyone is concerned about steroids. It is often not what you do but how you do it.

Fair points both of you guys are making. Again, just to be clear, I agree that the actions Cap and the Avengers have done have been pretty stupid. As I suggested, a better alternative would have been for Cap to somehow get in touch with Charles Xavier, explain their concern about Hope, and then have Xavier go to Scott and suggest for Hope to be taken off-world just in case something went wrong.

I should probably start my own thread for clarification on this, but I have a HUGE problem with Cyclops' motivation since getting Phoenixed up. Before the Phoenix power, what was Cyclops always bitching about? Save the mutants, make more mutants, once Hope gets the phoenix mutants will return, yadda yadda. Now that he has phoenix powers he's suddenly super boyscout "making the world a better place" and not one new mutant has been made?

I see some illogical writer favoritism at play here.

I hate Cyclops.

What a mess.

Well, in terms of standing up against Emma's psychic powers, Xavier's the only guy the Avengers and the non-Phoenix Five X-Men have at this point. But I agree, Xavier would totally lose against her now if he did, in fact, try it.

You think we will get an Xavier/Emma fight? He is supposed to do some stuff in the next issue of Avengers... But maybe this will be a thing where the Avengers are busy with Cyclops? He could probably just reach out to Emma at any time right? She's gone crazy, but I don't think she's going to start killing heroes...
