I think all the arguing about Colossus and Magik is really arguing about just how strong the Phoenix Force really is. I think the Phoenix Force would out weigh any of their brother and sister connections. especially since it's split 4 ways in this issue. Emma realizes it, tries to stop it, and she can't control it. and I think Scott has to go to great lengths to "make the world better" so he can convince himself that he isn't being corrupted even though he clearly is
Emma will be put in the exact same situation as fakeJean in the DPS. This time their love and Cyclops will prevail. Emma won't die.
Oh god, that was just pure Spiderman....
Re: The fact that Colossus and Magik would never turn on each other...
I don't think it's an absolute at least with Colossus.... Colossus has been known to have temper issue when things don't go his way as shown in WATXM 14 and Excalibur 92 and Spidey not going down as fast as he wants isn't helping and with Magik goading him to kill Spidey which he doesn't want. I think him seeing that taking the Phoenix power from his sister could be beneficial to her to PROTECT her.
And let's be clear, they did not show Colossus and Magik Physically FIGHTING each other due to the goading, we only saw a Phoenix flare up and them depowered later. For all we know, it might be that the Phoenix portion in them that is dominant reacting to the goading and trying to merge with the closest part of it and leaving the two.
So... most of the complaints seem to be that the bad guys are being outsmarted by the good guys? That's comics, folks.
I'm kind of getting tired of T'Challa's attitude, though. I know the Iron Man haters love it every time he sucker-punches Tony, or denigrates his intelligence in some way. Really, though, other than being an arrogant prick, what's he really accomplished? Oh... I guess he did give the X-Fans the divorce they've been demanding, so there's that.
Unless you're referring to things that I haven't heard about then the answer is no, this is different.
Namor is ruler of a Kingdom, Magik is Sorceress Supreme of her dimension. What they're dealing with is something even beyond their understanding or comprehension; A power that goes beyond being a ruler or an all-powerful conjurer, something that approaches godhood.
If you don't have the maturity or wisdom to deal with such a power, you and the universe are pretty much screwed.
I see that this issue has caused some mixed reaction... And I enjoyed parts of it like where Hope was concerned about ol' Spidey after he didn't come with the other Avengers. Seriously I would like to see a friendship form between these two & I know that it seems Gary-Stuish, but that what I see in the future hopefully.
And as a Spider-Man fan, I loved that he got some action as from what I can tell he doesn't get much to do in these company wide events.
However, I still don't like how Colossus & Magik are being portrayed.
It just bothers me so.
One more thing why is Thor getting his ass kicked more than Worf from Star Trek?!
Nevertheless a okay issue with some great moments here & there with some issues thrown into it as well.
All five have been together in once place and the PF was not acting up (Uncanny).
Rachel controlled a portion of the PF for years without ever doing this bad or losing her smarts. And again, since when does being in control of the PF reduce your IQ? Or make it want to intentionally sabotage itself?Originally Posted by NightMage
