Was not expecting Aaron at all and I'm happy to see Ribic doing Asgard once again. Curious how it will turn out. Didn't care for Fraction's Thor so hopefully I like what Aaron decides to bring.

How dire is it that the idea of him getting written as worthy, the very crux of the story, is an improvement?

It's a maybe with Aaron, but I don't like Ribic's artwork, based on his time on Ultimates.

I cannot wait to see Thor take on Russian-speaking, doped-up mutant dogs in space while fighting humpback bears underwater all to the sounds of diamond-encrusted baseball bats cracking skulls! Can't. Wait.

While I agree Fraction does have a knack for crazy, trippy cosmic like tales, I think whenever you place him on a book where he has to curb his naturally, darker tendencies to stay all ages you get his subpar work.

Actually, I like it as a statement. The fact that they recognize the need to develop that specific trait should provide some hope...

Personally, I think that Jason Aaron's best stories are those where he restrains those tendencies. I loved his Vertigo story with Cameron Stewart "the Other Side", and I loved his work on Ultimate Cap and Wolverine. I haven't read Scalped, but everyone I trust tells me that I need to get to it. It's stuff like Wolverine and the X-Men that I can't get into, because all the wacky hijinks overpower the character work.

Especially when Aaron introduces new characters and are immediately told and not shown that they're cooler than anyone else (see: the kid Hellfire Club). Hopefully his run Thor will avoid those mistakes.

That's a good assessment. I enjoy some of his run on Invincible Iron Man which felt somewhere in the middle between his wonky work and the Thor material. If Matt is on F4, I'll definitely take a look, especially if Larocca joins him on art duties.

I wish. While I understand Marvel Thor is far removed from the mythological Thor, I think the Marvel version also looks better with a beard. I think of that Italian model Fabio when he's clean shaven.

Sentry, definitely! Graviton? Absolutely! Apocalypse? Why not? Exodus? For sure! Gladiator? NO WAY!

I just think Gladiator is way too fast for Thor!

That's exactly what I love about comics.

I'm not sure if Aaron fits in Thor, but I'm willing to give it a couple of issues. Now Ribic, he's perfect for Thor.

I've been loving his run on WatX, far more than his work on the Wolverine solo title, so I think I'm in the opposite camp, where I like it when he goes a bit silly.

I like the choice for artist, though I'm not exactly sure how well he can do action scenes. I don't know who the writer is and what he's done, I'm just hoping he can come up with an interesting story. And I hope he gets some time to tell a good one before another mindless crossover event happens. Thor definitely needs a major injection of epic characterization. Fraction's run started off very strong for the first six issues, but faded slowly after the "Fear Itself" nonsense. Thor really needs a strong showing. I'd like to see a lengthy storyline.
