I'm looking for some more mature aimed comics other than the major marvel and dc heroes.

I myself enjoyed Rasl, Long Halloween, etc. Things of that nature that are deep.

Fatale is a great lovecraftian, crime, noir book from Brubaker. You may like that.
David Hines work on The Darkness has been awesome. Only 5 issues in.
The current direction of Spawn is very dark/noir. Jump on at 201 or 220
The Shadow by Garth Ennis. Pulp/Noir/WW2 Vigilante awesomeness
The Spider by David Liss, similar kinda thing albeit modern day.

    To get away from crime noir books;

Saga over at Image is extremely popular. Itis a fantastic book by Brian K Vaughn. Intersteller war, love, fantasy book.
Manhattan Projects by Jonathan Hickman. Sci-fi WW2 conspiracy book.
    Prophet. Euro-style world building sci-fi.
Morning Glories. Mindbending mystery/sci fi series. Lost meets Runaways.
Invincible. Fantastic superhero book. Oney of the best on the shelves.
Walking Dead. Very popular zombie series.

And Valient recently relaunched their universe. All have been great so far.
X-O Manowar, Harbinger and Bloodshot out now. Archer and Armstrong later this month. Shadowman in November.

I love Hine, but so far his run on The Darkness has been absolute tripe. It is so boring and forgettable.
Pull List: Valiant Comics, Haunted Horror, Popeye Classics, Suicide Squad, Uncanny X-Force, X-Men

No Place Like Home has been a favorite of mine so far, from Image.

You're the first person I've come across not into it.

Don't forget Boundless comics(by way of Avatar)and it's creators restart of WarGoddess and related characters.Never read the old Chaos comics, but War Goddess rocks. Not at all what you would expect from the Barbarian Warrior Woman in the modern world covers, and the art is excellent.

Valiant! Now is the perfect time to jump on, it has the promise of being the most engaging universe going, Marvel and DC included.

If you want some "deep" stuff and good plot, I would recommend KNITE and Tower of God. Both available online.

The Darkness has been fantastic since Hine and Hauhn took over. Sage & Danger Club from Image have also been fantastic. The Valiant books have been more fun than just about anything Marvel and DC are putting out, and everyone should be reading The Massive - easily my favorite book at the moment.

Don't like the characterization, not too keen on the artwork. The plot is slow and boring. I feel that Hine is really editting himself on this title. Not to mention that he is not using the all the pages to his advantage.

Really? Hauhn is killing it. And based on all the trades I've ever seen of Darkness this is the first time the title has really had a good artist.
