But I wonder if he plans to keep Kyle from becoming the 3rd iteration of Ion or if he's doing a DCNu version of Ion with Kyle

Quite interested by Bedard's comments on Kyle being the Torchbearer for all the Lantern corps now. I wonder if that means that, for example, if the Red Lantern corps were suddenly wiped out a red power ring would seek out Kyle? If that's right it certainly sets him up as the one Lantern all the corps might follow and, theoretically, put him in a real position of power in the post-third army DCU....

IMHO I suspected they showed Kyle being tortured that way because I suspected that of the other 6 rainbow corps emotions (outside of will because he's been a GL for a while) the red rage one might be the hardest for him to control

But imagining Bleez, Troccy or other RL's trying to train a rampaging rage-possessed Kyle is definitely good for a giggle

I had just said I didn't get the point of the New Guardians last night in another thread and now an answer. Nice to see Kyle does have a role to play after all since I was starting to feel New Guardians was almost a forgotten book within the Green Lantern line.

Same. Carol's position actually makes me the most identical to Catwoman's pose on that cover.

With Atrocitus joining the team, I wonder what that means for Red Lanterns, and if that book might undergo a massive status quo change or if it will be outright cancelled with the fourth wave.

I think I'll pick up New Guardians as my Green Lantern book, mostly because of Kyle and Saint Walker. I know Blue Beetle has garnered criticism, but I'll still check that out due to the connection with New Guardians, and hopefully it can serve as a new book for Booster Gold to appear in like how JLI served to bring in O.M.A.C.

I've been enjoying New Guardians for the most part so far, Kyle is my favourite GL so I'm glad he is getting the focus. I'd prefer the "lesser" members of some of the corps to stay rather than the head honchos, but maybe it's only a temporary thing.
