I disagree about the coloring of the batsuit. I think the only reason that gray and blue ever even entered in was because of the limits of what could be done with black ink in the early days. Batman as a creature of the night was intended to be all black, but coloring him that way would have just made him a silhouette all the time. Just look at how characters with black hair (notably Superman) used to be and are even still sometimes shown with blue in their hair. That tells me that making so much of Batman's costume blue (and gray) is meant to imply that it's really black, as it should be in live action. I'm flexible on the yellow bat symbol though.
Totally agree however on Robin being done right. And the way to do that is the "Dark Victory" approach. He needs to start out at around ten years old. Bruce witnessing Dick seeing his parents murdered in front of him, just the way Bruce did, and seeing himself there and immediately bonding with the kid emotionally, could be an amazing main focus for a movie.
