Default Why does Spider-man call Black Cat "Miss Kyle" in The Last Stand?

Basically, I was reading Marvel Knights Spider-man, by Mark Millar, and while Spidey and Black Cat were trying to break out Norman Osborn, Spidey called Black Cat "Miss Kyle". Was this just a mess up or is there any particular reason I missed?

Black Cat is a derivative character created to give Marvel their own "Catwoman." The parallels and themes are all there.

Catwoman's "real life" alias is Selena Kyle.

Millar having Spiderman refer to Black Cat as Ms. Kyle is a sly way of referencing the similarities. An insider joke.

Oh, I know about Catwoman, I just thought they mixed it up. Thanks for the answer.

Yes there are... and most of the similiarities that they share started with Black Cat and were copied later by Catwoman. Earlier Catwoman was a vastly different character than the one people tend to think about these days.

A cat burglar with a cat motif didn't originate with catwoman and black cat was never meant to be villainous like catwoman's classic depiction. Black Cat was inspired by a Tex Avery cartoon not Catwoman.

It was said that if the Marc Wolfman had know that the Black Cat was more like Cat Woman, he would not have created her. He might have retained the original version of her who was to have appeared in the original Spider-Woman comic. Who knows if the original Black Cat might have been as powerful as The Kingpin.

I don't get what your trying to say? These were two different characters, she was a heroine faster than spidey could blink.

Biggest issue I have with the character is she's spidey's go to one night stand, rather than two characters with a relationship and history. 20 years of the marriage could color my perspective though, but this felecia just seems to have regressed.

I dunno, having read it recently I wondered if maybe Millar forgot his characters or something. Or -could it be that Spider-Man reads Batman and was making a joke?

My biggest issue with Felicia is that she is not gay. She should be gay.

It was just a joke about Black Cat's similarities to Catwoman.

Later in the same story, Black Cat was hospitalized under the alias Julie Newmar.

You might get your wish sooner than you think.

Another thing that I wanted to add is that outside of the Earth-616 universe, Spidey has a daughter(Not Mayday or Felicity) who is a lesbian from a different timeline. The mother of the child is a heroine. And she is not a character that I've talked about. And it's not the Black Cat either.

Oh good, you'll have another female to ship Spidey with.
The monster saved them all. And in their fear, they betrayed him. As they always have. As they always will.

Only one heroine outside the Earth-616 realm!!!

Another hint that I'll give is it's not the lesbian Spider-Woman(Mary Jane) nor the AoA Gwen Stacy.

He's talking about the mixed race, lesbian daughter from "Old Man Logan," I think.
I had a letter printed once in Amazing Spider-Man #604!

Before Marvel NOW!, my pull list was 14 Marvel books. Now, it's more like 5 Marvel, 7 DC, and a few indies.
